Running for office is not an "official duty" and developing a campaign strategy is not an "official duty". I am not going to waste time explaining this to you. If you are saying this is only applicable during session, I will have to say I am not finding that limitation in the Statute. And Wagner is covered by another section as I pointed out. This statute is referring to money taken which could affect a legislator's "performance of his official duties" i.e. sponsoring and promoting legislation...The legislature isn't even in session right now even if your premise was that the campaign donation was an attempt to influence "official duties".
