In the interest of fairness, if a Republican makes a mistake, I feel obligated to mention it. And in Bob McDonnell’s ad, he incorrectly states that the Cap and Trade bill that his opponent Creigh Deeds supports will cost families an additional $532 per year. I feel it only right to point out that this figure is incorrect. The Obama Administration says this figure will actually be $1,761 per family each year. Mr. Deeds favors heaping an additional $1,761 in taxes on the backs of already hurting Virginians.
Normally, the McDonnell campaign is extremely accurate in their ads. While this information was only recently released, I call on the McDonnell campaign to issue some type of statement to correct this error.
Here is the new Video that understates the damage Deeds will do to Virginia:

I think you misunderstood the ad a little bit. McDonnell's ad just mentions just the additional electricity costs. So, of course, the number is on the low end. The article you mention addresses the total additional costs. Given the source is CBS, you might want to check some additional resources for verification.
Actually, CBS quoted the White House, so I think that figure is acceptable. And obviously, this was a tongue in cheek swipe at Bob McDonnell.
