Creigh Deeds Tweets -Nothing Honorable About Beck’s Rally-

Posted at Disrupt the Narrative

CreighDeeds Virginia State Senator Creigh Deeds  normally tweets about the mundane. The failed AG and Gubernatorial candidate routinely will let us know what’s on his Ipod (I must say he has a very good taste in music) or the daily fate of his Cincinnati Reds. So I was disappointed when he went out of his way to criticize Glenn Beck and the thousands of Virginians who participated in Saturday’s Restore Honor rally. First he very subtly tweeted a link to the anti-Beck Washington Post column by Eugene Robinson. Then another tweet linking to the anti-Beck NY Times column  by Bob Herbert. At this point another tweeter (jnowlin) questions why he would…

Pat Robertson to Be Named Morality Czar in Virginia

Governor Elect McDonnell

Governor Elect McDonnell

Governor elect Bob McDonnell has decided to take his cue from the Obama Administration and name Czars to rule over Virginia. The first Virginia Czar to be named is reportedly Pat Robertson as Morality Czar.

McDonnell will start an email list to report anyone in need of moral guidance. If Robertson’s department determines the emails are correct, his department will have the authority to instruct the miscreants in the Christian faith. Of course the option to spend 5 years in jail will be offered as an alternative.

The free speech Czar, Glenn Beck, will decide what is appropriate for Radio and Television broadcasts in the Commonwealth.

The Diversity Czar, Virgin Goode is planning to appoint a number of regional deputies to implement Goode’s Acceptable Diversity Plan.

And in the spirit of bipartisanship, Creigh Deeds will become the first Thesis Czar.

Of course this is a complete fabrication. But in reading some of the more partisan lefty blogs (we all know who they are), the hysterical blathering from the losing side is quite comical. The hand wringing, gnashing of teeth and clickity click of tear soaked keys is worthy of an Emmy.

Bob McDonnell and Ken Cuccinelli held a recent conference call with around 3,000 supporters and reiterated his commitment to Jobs, Transportation and keeping taxes at current levels. They both asked their supporters to hold their feet to the fire on their campaign promises. These were not empty words to get elected. They are an honest plan for moving Virginia forward and making the best of what this Commonwealth has to offer, be it people, energy or know how.

Me thinks the lefty blogs do protest too much. To paraphrase the TV show Burn Notice “You know lefty blogs. A bunch of bitchy little girls.”

Just sit back and learn how the State should be run. Kaine has left a big mess to clean up. It will take some pain to fix things and put the budget back in the realm of reality. But the Commonwealth elected the best candidates to get the job done.

And it was a landslide.

Obama Blowhard

Democrats in Serious Trouble in 2010

Blowing Away Democrats Chances

Blowing Away Democrats Chances

Still stinging from the 2009 losses in Virginia and New Jersey, the only victory in sight for the Democrats was in the NY-23 race. Nancy Pelosi proudly proclaimed that the Democrats won. The only important race was NY-23. That is the one they were concentrating on.

Strangely, that is also the only one of the three races (Virginia, New Jersey and NY-23) in which President Obama did not campaign. Perhaps if he used the same strategy in Virginia and New Jersey the Democrats would have fared better.

Here is why the Democrats are in serious trouble in 2010:

Refusal to accept the truth. Democrats insist on laying the blame on Creigh Deeds.

If only a more progressive candidate, like Moran or Terry Mac had won the primary. The Obama voters that put him in office would have turned out. A low voter turnout combined with a large drop in the African American vote would have put one of the other primary candidates in office.

But the facts just don’t support that common belief in New Jersey or Virginia.

  • In New Jersey 2,355,000 people voted, and increase of over 180,000 from the 2005 Governor’s race.
  • And 16% of the voters were African-American compared with 14% that turned out in 2008 for Obama.
  • In Virginia, Bob McDonnell garnered 1,157,680 votes compared to Creigh Deeds’ 814,063, a margin of 344,000 votes out of 1,971,743 votes cast.
  • In 2005, Tim Kaine won 1,025,942 votes, 132,000 less than McDonnell won in 2009. Total votes cast in 2005 were 1,982,222 – or 10,000 fewer than this year. Hardly a “low” turnout.
  • In 2001, Mark Warner received 984,177 votes, or 174,000 fewer than Bob McDonnell out of 1,885,908 votes, 86,000 fewer than this year.
  • In 2004,  63.8% of eligible voters turned out to vote nationwide. In the 2008 Presidential race, only 63.6% showed up. So, there was no “big, energized turnout” of “new” voters for Obama. (Note – the raw numbers increased from 2004, but that was due to a 9 million person population increase in the US. But no matter if it is Virginia or Nationwide, it simply never happened.

So, despite the numerous polls attempting to show this was not a referendum on Obama, the numbers say otherwise. Moderate voters simply shifted to the right. McDonnell won the great masses in the middle. The moderates.

I snicker when I read the lefty blogs analysis insisting that Deeds was the wrong candidate. A more liberal candidate would have brought out the Obama voters.

But, as we can see, it was not a case of too few voters turning out. It was a case of the moderates moving to McDonnell. A more liberal candidate would have likely driven more moderates to vote for McDonnell.

The Democrats were defeated, not by a poor Deeds campaign, although that likely made things worse. But rather by a huge (and growing) backlash to Obama and Pelosi.

Former President George W. Bush caused a huge negative headwind for Republicans. The wind has now shifted. This time, the wind is blowing to the left. And it is picking up velocity.

With every radical bill, every radical Czar and inept policies for Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as the rest of the Foreign Policy agenda, Obama increases the likelihood of the demise of the Democrat’s majorities every day.

Change You Can REALLY Count on – a Republican Landslide

Fed up with the lack of leadership in Washington D.C., Virginia shook off the Blues and put on her Red dress and painted the town last night. The message was clear and unmistakable. Democrats are leading us down the wrong path. Virginia will no longer follow.

Creigh Deeds lack of a coherent message may be the target of Democrat’s anger in the days to come, but the fact is, the Democrats simply do not have a plan at all. In Virginia or Nationwide.

Last November was a fluke. The Democrats had great success running against George W. Bush, but when there is no demon to run against, and the Democrat’s must actually have a plan, they fall flat.

The results in Virginia and New Jersey reflect the “buyer’s remorse” that has set in all over the country. The irresponsible spending, the “shove it down your throat” mentality and the inability to bring about economic recovery, jobs recovery and type of change people really wanted has doomed the Democrat’s 2008 rise to power to failure.

As Bill Bolling said at the Richmond Marriott last night, they bring “Change you can really count on”.

Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi et al have done more for the Republican Party than anyone since Ronald Reagan.

Voters sent a clear and unmistakable message yesterday. Look for the Democrats to totally disregard the meaning of this race and redouble their efforts to continue the country down the path to ruin. And themselves with it.

Liberals and their agenda have seen a massive backlash. Maine voters repealed a law allowing same sex marriage.

The Conservative movement is back!

Deeds Manure Comments at Friday Rally

At a rally Friday, with 4 days to go until the election, Democrat Creigh Deeds said:

“Four days — four days, that’s all we’re asking. I know the polls don’t look good, but if I got discouraged every time, I’d probably be shoveling manure,” Deeds said.

Perhaps the reason Deeds is down double digits is the fact that he has already been shoveling manure and the voters don’t like it.

His entire campaign just smells bad. Manure is a good word for it. Much more polite than the words I would use.

The Tim Kaine DNC Resignation Watch Begins

First, this race is hardly over, and anything can happen over the next 12 days to change the outcome. But in a discussion this week with some friends who happen to be Democrats, the topic turned to Tim Kaine, specifically in his capacity as DNC Chairman.

Tim Kaine was appointed Chairman of the DNC in January of this year. We all agreed that this was a reward for Kaine for two reasons. First, for his part in delivering Virginia for President Obama, no small task. And, secondly, in anticipation of moving Virginia from a “purple” state to a “blue” state. Keep the Governor’s mansion and take the House. This would complete the fade to blue, give Democrats complete control of Virginia and, most importantly, redistricting.

In January, 2009, this looked like a sure thing. Ten months after taking control of the DNC, and retaining the job of Virginia Governor, Tim Kaine is looking over the edge of a steep cliff. According to my Democrat friends, the only question, should the polls be accurate, is if Kaine jumps or gets pushed.

To be sure, Creigh Deeds will be slammed with the first wave of blame. But there is no blood to be let there. The Senate is likely to be the only hold the Democrats manage this cycle, mainly due to the fact there are no elections on the Senate side this year. Deeds will not be asked to resign.

Tim Kaine will be the fall guy, no doubt.

The consensus seemed to be that if Republicans pick up more than 3 or 4 seats in the House, sweep the state ticket and capture New Jersey (a VERY close race), the Democratic mob that comes after Kaine will resemble a Frankenstein movie. Should Corzine win in New Jersey, the mob may be a bit muted, but Kaine is still gone.

None believed that Tim Kaine would be DNC Chairman for the Mid Term elections next year.

Interestingly, none of my friends were ready to lay even a small amount of blame on President Obama.

New Poll Shows Huge Momentum Swing to Bob McDonnell Up 14 Points

See the results here:

A new poll from WVEC, the Virginian-Pilot and Christopher Newport University shows Republican Bob McDonnell is comfortably ahead of Democratic challenger Creigh Deeds in the race for Virginia governor.

Bob McDonnell: 44.7%

Creigh Deeds: 30.9%

Undecided: 21.9%

“They haven’t given folks a reason to say ‘I’m going to vote for Creigh Deeds.’ They’ve only given voters a reason ‘I don’t want to vote for Bob McDonnell.’ I don’t think that’s going to be a winning strategy,” Kidd believes.

Kidd praises McDonnell for running a “disciplined and focused campaign” and says he’s not surprised McDonnell is ahead.

Fairfax Democrats Dislike Deeds Message Make Up Their Own

Turkey of a plan

Turkey of a plan

Nothing says support better than your supporters making up their own fliers to say what you should have said. Embarrassed by Deeds’ lack of any type of Transportation plan, and seeing the entire Democratic ticket becoming the laughing stock of the Commonwealth, the Fairfax Democrats have decided to make up their own message to help out humiliated Democrats trying to explain the unexplainable.

A sputtering message, muddled with “everything’s on the table” spewed so many times in order to attempt to give supporters something to say, other than the “Deeds will raise your taxes” truth, was making Democrats look silly. Well, that and Deeds himself.

As Blue Commonwealth puts it:

The City of Fairfax Democratic Committee has produced its own hand card of talking points for Creigh Deeds. The joint effort is being printed and distributed for use in door knocking and conversations (like in the grocery store, for example). The Committee, dissatisfied with the hand cards and flyers offered by the campaign, put their heads together and the following is the result. Included are points for Creigh Deeds, Jody Wagner, Steve Shannon, and David Bulova (Delegate for Fairfax City Area, 37th House District).

And as the RPV puts it:

Deeds: No Roads Plan – Fairfax Dems Forced to Wing It

The new-and-improved hand card includes this prompt for Deeds and Democratic grassroots workers to employ to harass their neighbors while shopping:

* Transportation: [Deeds] Will assemble a bipartisan commission to craft a comprehensive transportation plan

This vague promise of gathering people at a table to assess what is on the table, while everything is on the table is exactly the sort of gobbledygook Deeds spouts on most occasions.

We can happily report that Republicans and more importantly, voters are quite pleased with the in depth Transportation plan Republican Candidate has penned.

Volunteers for the Republican ticket are helping the McDonnell campaign by taking a comprehensive message of Transportation, Jobs, Education, Property Rights and Economic recovery to the doorsteps of voters. And the polls show this is what voters expect.

The Deeds campaign is now being second guessed by their own imploding support base. Deeds can’t even craft a message that his volunteers want to carry. How does he expect to craft a plan to fix Virginia’s problems?

Looks like Thanksgiving Dinner is already being served at Deeds table. Turkey and stuffing for all.

Deeds

Another Poll Another Big McDonnell Lead

Deeds Is Done (Dirt Cheap)

Deeds Is Done (Dirt Cheap)

As President Obama and Tim Kaine turn their backs on Democrat Creigh Deeds to focus on minimizing the losses next year, poll after poll show they are right. Deeds ship is sinking, and fast.

The latest poll to confirm the growing lead for Republican Bob McDonnell comes to us from the Washington Post.

Republican Robert F. McDonnell has taken a commanding lead over R. Creigh Deeds in the race for governor of Virginia, as momentum the Democrat had built with an attack on his opponent’s conservative social views has dissipated, according to a new Washington Post poll.

McDonnell leads 53 to 44 percent among likely voters, expanding on the four-point lead he held in mid-September. Deeds’s advantage with female voters has all but disappeared and McDonnell has grown his already wide margin among independents. Deeds, a state senator from western Virginia, is widely seen by voters as running a negative campaign, a finding that might indicate his aggressive efforts to exploit McDonnell’s 20-year-old graduate thesis are turning voters away.

Left Media and Blogs Begin Racial Attacks on Sheila Johnson BET Founder

Sheila Johnson Suffers Racial Attacks From Democrats

Sheila Johnson Suffers Racial Attacks From Democrats

The attacks on Sheila Johnson have nothing to do with her stuttering comments concerning Creigh Deeds. They have everything to do with a successful African-American woman who “don’t know her place”. The left has been looking for an excuse to slam her ever since she endorsed Republican Bob McDonnell for Governor.

What they wanted to say was “You are a wealthy, successful black woman who has made your money off of other blacks. How dare you not throw all your support to the Democratic Party! We are the ones that got you here.”

But saying that would be overtly racist. You are black, so you must be a Democrat. We can’t have that, can we?

So, there were grumbles, there were a few blue blogs that attempted to marginalize her. But there was no real way to retaliate against her without looking foolish, and racist.

So the left waited.

When Ms. Johnson made a joke about Deeds speech patterns, the Media and the lefty blogs suddenly had the vehicle to release the pent up anger at this black woman that does not know her place. How dare she make fun of a politician’s speech problems? They are all wee weed up!

So, the same media and blogs that were first in line to giggle with glee whenever President George W. Bush stammered over a word or two are suddenly incensed that a person could make fun of a speech problem.

Now do you see the racism? These people really don’t care about Ms. Johnson’s levity at Deeds’ expense. They simply want to punish her for the crime of endorsing a Republican. Plain and simple.

By the way, Deeds campaign admits he does not have a speech problem and has never sought medical attention for his diction. He has always talked like that.

However, if you pay attention as to exactly when he has a major problem, it is when he is trying to talk out of both sides of his mouth at once. Like saying he will raise taxes and not raise taxes at the same time. Or pretending to be a “progressive” liberal in NoVa and a Blue Dog in Bath. Or supporting collective bargaining to one group of Police Officers and not supporting it to another.

His speech problem is more a moral issue. He can solve his problem simply by being himself and telling the truth.

But then he will definitely lose the election.

But the stuttering does make for one hell of a truth detector.

Doug Wilder better look out. The Democrats are all wee weed up over your non endorsement, too.

Whats the Big Deal With Sheila Johnson? Deeds Only Stutters When He Lies!

Why would anyone make fun of Creigh Deeds?

Why would anyone make fun of Creigh Deeds?

Creigh Deeds is one of the most inarticulate people that have ever run for Governor of Virginia or any state. Ms. Johnson illustrated her point that Deeds is unable to communicate effectively. He can’t get his message out to voters and he will be unable to communicate effectively should he become Governor.

I don’t believe Deeds has any type of speech disability. He is simply a below average communicator and has a hard time admitting he wants to raise taxes.

I have done extensive research and watched thousands of hours of Deeds tapes and have come to the professional conclusion that Deeds only stutters when he lies.

Listen to him order a Ham Sandwich and grits sometime. He is clear as a bell.

The cure for his stutter is simple. Stop lying. He’s just lucky his nose doesn’t grow.

Deeds Believes Day Care Better Than Mom Care! Was Deeds a Bottle Baby?

Democrat Creigh Deeds - Was he a bottle baby?

Democrat Creigh Deeds - Was he a bottle baby?

It is hard to believe that anyone would possibly think that a Day Care center is a better option to raise and nurture your children than the child’s own Mother. Nobody cares for a child better than Mom.

Yet that is exactly what Democrat Gubernatorial Candidate Creigh Deeds is advocating. His commercials are hitting the air waves declaring “Bob McDonnell believes working women are detrimental to the family”.

Well, who among us thinks children are better off with Mom out of the house and some Day Care worker “nurturing” in Mom’s place?

Deeds believes the family is better off without the family anchor. There is no question that children benefit from having Mom at home, teaching them, imparting her wisdom and values as they grow and learn. And providing a solid foundation for their emotional and physical well being as well. Dad’s are good, too. But not as good as Mom.

Perhaps the traditional family is not for all women. And that’s fine. Bob McDonnell’s thesis (which is where Deeds lifted the quote) says “The Republican party… must find a way to lead while not necessarily legislating. Family stability is outside the scope of the government’s purview.”

He simply thinks Mother knows best.

I am baffled as to why Deeds has a problem with this.

He must have been a bottle baby.

McDonnell Surges in New Rasmussen Poll 51% to 42%

How do you drop 7 points in the polls in two weeks? Easy if you’re Creigh Deeds. Use disrespectful terms like “young lady” to a reporter and then play coy with your plans to raise taxes in a recession. This dropped Deeds to a 9 point deficit.

With the newest polls all indicating a surge by Bob McDonnell, it would appear that the initial thesis bounce has dropped and voters are now realizing that Deeds has no plan for Virginia’s problems. In addition, the decision by Doug Wilder may be a mush larger concern than Democrats let on.

See the results of the new poll here.

Bob McDonnell Has 14 Point Lead in New SurveyUSA Poll

Update: Unlike the other recent polls, this Survey USA poll does not have the party affiliation creep the others have displayed. You can view the numbers here. This update is based on the three most recent polls by SurveyUSA.

So we finally have a poll where the sample has remained consistent, and the outcome has also remained consistent. So, what this poll shows is voters have not shifted, and the polls have not tightened.

What we don’t know is if the poll is a true representation of the makeup of voters on November 3, 2009. These polls do show that if a few more Republicans show up (by percentage) than Democrats, Bob McDonnell can be expected to win by double digits. And even if Democrats outnumber Republicans by a few percentage points, McDonnell will still win. Democrats will need to turn out in significantly larger numbers than Republicans to win this election.

A new poll just out proves my calculations on a post earlier today were correct when I posted the correctly weighted poll numbers and arrived at a McDonnell Lead of 54% to 33% for Deeds. At least the numbers for McDonnell were pretty close.

The SurveyUSA poll shows McDonnell with a 55 – 41 lead over Deeds.

I have not seen the internals yet, but I am sure they will be posted by tomorrow. And I will let you know my opinion of the numbers.

But for now, it seems to back up my view that many of the recent polls were shifting the advantage to the Democrats.

A new state-wide poll gives Republican Bob McDonnell a double digit lead in the race for Governor.

The latest News 7 Survey USA poll has McDonnell ahead of Democrat Creigh Deeds by 14 percentage points, with 55 percent of the vote to 41 percent.

Little has changed since two previous surveys four weeks and nine weeks ago. Both showed McDonnell with a commanding lead.

Deeds Endorses Cuccinelli in Attorney General Race!

Senator Ken Cuccinelli (R-37) accepted the endorsement for Attorney General from 77 different elected law enforcement officials from across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

“I am honored to announce the endorsements from 77 law enforcement officials, both Sheriff’s and Commonwealth Attorney’s, of my candidacy for Attorney General of Virginia,” Senator Cuccinelli said. “These individuals, all of whom have the trust of their communities, and many of whom are politically independent, are supporting me because they know that as Attorney General I will advance tough strategies for fighting gangs, drugs, and other crime.” He continued, “I am humbled by such widespread support among Virginia’s Sheriffs and Commonwealth Attorneys, in addition to the Fraternal Order of Police, which itself represents more than 8000 law enforcement officers and is the largest law enforcement organization in the Commonwealth.”

The endorsement by Williamsburg Sheriff Bob Deeds was amonh the 77 names. (You didn’t think it was Creigh Deeds did you. seriously?)

Here is the announcement:

Richmond, VA. — Senator Ken Cuccinelli (R-37) accepted the endorsement for Attorney General from 77 different elected law enforcement officials from across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Standing in support of Senator Cuccinelli at today’s press conference were Sheriff Danny Diggs (York/Poquoson), Sheriff Bob Deeds (Williamsburg), Commonwealth’s Attorney Lisa Caruso (Dinwiddie), Commonwealth’s Attorney Tom Garrett (Louisa) and Commonwealth’s Attorney Billy Davenport (Chesterfield).

While unable to attend, Congressman Frank Wolf (R-VA), a recognized expert on gang problems in Virginia, stated, “I respect the work that Ken Cuccinelli has done on the Courts of Justice Committee to combat gangs here in Virginia. His legislation to pro-actively put a halt to gang recruitment and initiation has helped keep Virginia’s families and communities safer. As Attorney General, Ken Cuccinelli will continue to crack down on gangs and gang violence wherever it exists.”

Additionally, State Senator Ken Stolle, candidate for Sheriff in Virginia Beach, had this to say about Senator Cuccinelli, “For the past seven years, I’ve had the pleasure of serving with Ken Cuccinelli on the Senate Courts Committee. His commitment to law enforcement is unquestionable. With Ken Cuccinelli as our next Attorney General, the law enforcement community will have a tireless advocate at their side. It’s no wonder Ken has received the support of so many Sheriffs and Commonwealth Attorneys, all in addition to the Fraternal Order of Police.”

Commonwealth’s Attorneys enthusiastically joined Senator Cuccinelli’s campaign when=2 0he showed true leadership in the wake of the Melendez-Diaz decision by the Supreme Court this summer. Senator Cuccinelli quickly realized that drug offenders and drunk drivers could go unpunished due to this ruling and requested that Governor Kaine call a special session. Governor Kaine followed Senator Cuccinelli’s lead and on August 19th, the Virginia House and Senate convened in Richmond and passed much of the legislative fix to the Melendez problem that Senator Cuccinelli had proposed.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Billy Davenport (Chesterfield County) commented, “When justice was denied here in Virginia this summer, Ken Cuccinelli stepped up to the plate. His leadership in the wake of the Melendez decision should be commended. His ability to work across the aisle with Governor Kaine proves that he will make an effective Attorney General. He has my full support.”

Sheriff Danny Diggs (York/Poquoson) spoke on Senator Cuccinelli’s work as a State Senator and his leadership on issues relating to the law enforcement community. Sheriff Diggs commented “Sheriffs in Virginia could not ask for a better candidate than Ken Cuccinelli. I have known and respected Ken for a long time now and I completely trust him to tackle the tough issues Virginia faces like gangs and internet predators.”

Today Senator Cuccinelli also reiterated some of the highlights of the McDonnell/Cuccinelli Public Safety plan they unveiled on August 12th, including:

– Cracking down on a career drug dealers b y proposing tougher mandatory minimum sentences for repeat offenders;

– Requiring a form of intensive lifetime monitoring (such as GPS tracking) of violent sexual predators not eligible for civil commitment but who continue to pose a danger to society;

– Including ALL law enforcement in the capital-eligible victims list;

– Pushing for the statutory fix to the Moore v. Commonwealth case (from April of 2008), which would allow police officers greater flexibility in making an arrest in misdemeanor cases;

– Utilizing the multi-jurisdictional grand jury approach to gang prosecution that the Attorney General’s office has used with exceptional success with the Commonwealth’s Attorneys in the Shenandoah Valley. Ken wants to replicate that model in other parts of VA.

– Proposing that the penalty for a convicted sex offender who fails to register for Virginia’s Sex Offender Registry be elevated to a felony.

In conjunction with today’s Law Enforcement Coalition rollout and Senator Cuccinelli’s plans to keep Virginia safe, Senator Cuccinelli also announced the release of his first television ad to begin airing statewide on Tuesday. The ad can be viewed here.

Bob McDonnell Picks Up Hampton Roads Chamber Endorsement

Creigh Deeds Transportation Plan - The Emperor's New Clothes Plan

Creigh Deeds Transportation Plan - The Emperor's New Clothes Plan

By now it should be pretty evident to all Virginians. The United Republican Ticket is seen as the best option for businesses and Law Enforcement.

While Creigh Deeds is running around in Emperor’s New Clothes fashion pretending to have a transportation plan and spreading absolute lies about Bob McDonnell, Bob is traveling the state telling folks exactly what he plans to do about our problems.

Deeds plans to hit Virginia with massive and regressive tax increases. The fact is, Democrats have wasted our “Rainy Day Fund” and created massive budget gaps through their inability to address problems. Just as Deeds is doing right now.

Can we expect more of the same failed leadership displayed by Tim “The Absentee Governor” Kaine from Creigh “The Emperor” Deeds?

You bet ‘cha!

Did Ken Cuccinelli Bring in FOP to Republican Ticket?

In a blow to the Democrats running for state wide office, the Fraternal Order of Police endorsed Republicans Bob McDonnell, Bill Bolling and Ken Cuccinelli.

While McDonnell did a great job as AG and all three Republican candidates are strong supporters of law enforcement, Senator Ken Cuccinelli has twice distinguished his insight as spot on.

First, in the Melendez-Diaz Supreme court case, Cuccinelli calmly and correctly called for a special session to fix the laws invalidated by the Supreme Court ruling. While Democrat Steve Shannon tried to make political points, jeopardizing public safety as drug and DUI cases were dismissed, Cuccinelli held steady that a special session was needed and the problem was resolved, thanks to his calls.

Second, while Shannon is making a fool of himself by taking money from Delegate Hamilton’s opponent Robin Abbott and then calling for Hamilton’s resignation, Cuccinelli correctly refused comment in order to let the legal process work. The Attorney General could be called on to resolve the issue, and Shannon has already disqualified himself by showing a bias before he even heard the facts.

Congratulations to all three Republicans and kudos to Senator Cuccinelli.

In another devastating blow to the Democrats, former Governor Doug Wilder refused to endorse Creigh Deeds, even though President Obama called on Wilder to endorse.

Seems no one really trusts these Democrats, including their own party.

The only endorsements the Democrats received was the Acorn / SEIU kiss of death endorsement. Bet that one stings at this particular time.
