Video Flashback: 1973 – Shambala by Three Dog Night

Where were you in 1973 when Three Dog Night launched a Number 3 Hit with Shambala?

I was attending Virginia Commonwealth University, letting my hair grow and following the road to fame and fortune with an old electric guitar and an old 2 piece Silvertone amp. Sometime that year I gave away the guitar and purchased a 1971 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top and a Yamaha amp. The kid I gave the guitar to wanted to learn to play. I gave him the guitar, a few lessons and have no idea if he stuck with it. Colby was his name. Or perhaps Cody. He lived in the neighborhood and came by to listen to us practice all the time.

He would be the first of several kids to which I gave guitars. The Les Paul is still in my possession and is earmarked for my son some day. I also still have the amp, but compared to my Line 6 Spider, it is really a dud!

After graduating from High School in 1972, my first full year of “freedom” was 1973, so this was a bit of a banner year for me.

Anyone else remember this song?

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO – Lightning Strikes Office Building in Richmond – Causes Major Fire

This video was taken by my brother, Mike White, of a fire two doors down from his business on Staples Mill Road in Richmond. A really bad thunderstorm came through Richmond, and is still in the area. Lightning struck the office building that is home to several businesses including a Dentist and is located next to McDonald’s in Henrico county about a mile South of Parham Rd.

Note the firefighter in the bucket. He is completely engulfed in smoke as he tries to get the fire under control.

No word on any injuries yet.

Shocking Video: Racism and Bigotry at NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet Caught on Tape!

NAACP Racism

NAACP Racism

Who is racist? TEA Party? Give me a break. This video exposes the worst kind of black hatred imaginable. This black woman refused to help a farmer because he was white! Shirley Sherrod was the Director of Rural Development appointed by President Obama – and it was her job to help this man. But because he was white, she had no intention of offering him honest help.

From FoxNews:

Days after the NAACP clashed with Tea Party members over allegations of racism, a video has surfaced showing an Agriculture Department official regaling an NAACP audience with a story about how she withheld help to a white farmer facing bankruptcy — video that now has forced the official to resign.

Shirley Sherrod, the department’s Georgia director of Rural Development, is shown in the clip describing “the first time I was faced with having to help a white farmer save his farm.” Sherrod, who is black, claimed the farmer took a long time trying to show he was “superior” to her. The audience laughed as she described how she determined his fate.

Watch the Video and prepare to be shocked.

U.S. Senator Roger Wicker Delivers Weekly Republican Address

U.S. Senator Roger Wicker Delivers Weekly Republican Address

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R-Mississippi) released the following weekly Republican address.

YouTube Preview Image

Text of the speech:

Hello, I am Senator Roger Wicker from Mississippi.

As we enter the third month of the Deepwater Horizon disaster, we continue to learn more and more disturbing information about gross negligence on the part of BP — and about some proposals from the Obama Administration that will do more harm than good.

From the Oval Office Tuesday night, President Obama attempted to recover from a widespread perception that he has not made this crisis a priority.

The public outcry about the President’s inattention has been loud and it has been bi-partisan.

I’m glad President Obama is finally putting this catastrophe at the top of his agenda, but his response has been too slow.  He was slow in listening to state and local leaders, slow in getting skimmers to the Gulf, slow in understanding the seriousness of this crisis, and slow in taking ownership and responsibility for the recovery.  Many of his actions have actually taken us in the wrong direction.

Earlier this week the President came to the Gulf Coast.  After visiting with him in Mississippi, I was optimistic that he was removing politics from this disaster and focusing solely on fixing the problem.

Republicans in Congress and at the state level looked forward to participating in a bipartisan, non-political solution to the many challenges this disaster has brought.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed.  In less than a day, we were reminded of Rahm Emanuel’s theory of never letting a good crisis go to waste.

In his speech Tuesday night, President Obama made it clear that he intends to exploit this crisis to push his liberal agenda for a cap-and-tax scheme.  This is a disservice not only to the victims and their families but also to the millions of Gulf Coast residents who are struggling in the wake of the spill.

Americans increasingly reject the cap-and-tax proposal because it would drive up the cost of energy and force American jobs overseas.

The President spent more than a third of his address advocating this national energy tax, revealing his true priorities.  Now is not the time to push a controversial, job-killing, partisan agenda through Congress.

In addition to devastating our economy, this proposal would do nothing to fix the disastrous leak or clean up our beaches, marshes, and waters.

Another idea that takes us in the wrong direction is the Democratic plan to increase oil cleanup fees and raid those funds to pay for unrelated programs. These funds are needed to clean up spills, not to satisfy Senator Reid and Speaker Pelosi’s desire to raise federal spending.

In addition, the administration’s moratorium on deepwater drilling has the potential to become the third wave of this disaster.  If left in place, the moratorium will permanently eliminate thousands of jobs and drive up the cost of energy for all Americans.  You don’t have to take my word for it.  Earlier this week democratic strategist James Carville said the moratorium was

“wrecking the economy” of the Gulf Coast.

Along with the spill’s devastation to our fisheries and the administration’s decision to halt our drilling, one of the greatest threats to the economy of the Gulf Coast is the loss of tourism.  Our hotels and restaurants have seen business decrease by as much as 70%.

At a brief press conference on Monday, President Obama pointed out that there are a lot of beaches that are not affected and will not be affected.  I was hoping the President would make this important point to the larger audience Tuesday night, but since he didn’t, I’ll say it again.  The vast majority of Gulf Coast beaches are clear, beautiful and safe.

BP CEO Tony Hayward recently said he wanted his life back and later correctly apologized.  BP put dollars before safety, and we are all paying the price.  We have been told that BP will be held accountable and pay all damages.

But what we in the Gulf states really need is to have our way of life back.  We want our jobs back, our economy back, and we need our tourists back.

So please come and visit us. You deserve a vacation, and we could use the business.

Thank you.

FoxNews Begins Tea Party – Libertarian Show on Fox Business Network

Freedom Watch was launched on Fox Business Network on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Judge Andrew Napolitano is the host of this Libertarian leaning show featuring numerous guests. This week, Sarah Palin and Ron Paul helped launch the show.

YouTube Preview Image

The fact that the New York Times noticed and wrote an article is proof that the show has the liberals all aflutter.

From the NY Times:

The first TV episode was billed as a “Tea Party summit,” with appearances by the Fox pundit Sarah Palin; Representative Ron Paul, Republican of Texas; and his son Rand Paul, a Republican and candidate in Kentucky for the United States Senate. (The elder Mr. Paul endorsed and wrote a forward for Mr. Napolitano’s most recent book.)

Also on the show were three Tea Party favorites, Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina, Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and the former House majority leader Dick Armey of Texas, Republicans all, or “freedom fighters,” as the host called them. The lone Democratic guest was Gov. Edward G. Rendell of Pennsylvania.

And one critic of the FoxNews network as well as the show is Liberal commentator Bill Press. According to a Mediaite interview:

others like liberal commentator Bill Press say its a pure ratings move, and that Fox “just decided to make it the second propaganda channel.” As a response, A Fox Business spokesperson tells Mediaite, “If anyone is familiar with being a ratings killer it’s Bill Press who hasn’t been able to maintain a steady hosting job on television since being dumped by CNN in 2002 and having his show canceled by MSNBC in 2003.”

So, set the DVR, tune in live, or search the listings for the replay times and live show times.

Let’s Be Just Like Socialist Europe. Come On! It’ll Be FUN!

Our Socialist leaning President has nothing but praise for Europe’s humanitarian treatment of it’s citizens. Health care, employer mandates, taxes, taxes and more taxes. We should be just like them! But for now, we will just borrow the money and put it on a tab to be paid back with interest at a later date.

So, just how long must a single man in the UK work to have all these “free” benefits?

How many minutes out of each day are working to pay taxes? 2 hours? 4? Well, if you add up what they are paying in Britain, and how many hours a single male works each day just to pay his taxes, you will be astonished.

Have a look at this video. This is where we are headed. Very soon! In fact, we are not far away already.

Did you see this in the Mainstream Media? No? Wonder why.

This rally was put together by a coalition of Sikhs, Hindus, Jews and Christians called The Human Rights Coalition Against Radical Islam.

Thanks to Dr. John Press for the boots on the ground proof that the problem is not Islam, but the Radical version that uses violence and terror to further their goals.

Soldiers Coming Home Video – if You Don’t Tear Up at This, You Ain’t Human!

While sorting through the daily blogs and news sites this morning, I visited The Other McCain (as usual). For those of you that have not had the pleasure of meeting Stacy McCain and his faithful sidekick Smitty, you have missed a treat. I was fortunate enought to meet them both at CPAC this year.

Well, Smitty has posted a video he promises will extract tears from Chuck Norris. I don’t know about Chuck, but for this Navy Vet, I must admit an abnormally large amount of liquid in my eyes.

I was single my entire enlistment, so my experience with homecomings while a sailor are purely vicarious. But I am a sap when I see the tears of joy from a child seeing their military parent return after a long absence and surprise them.

None of the people in this video were aware that their loved one was returning. Grab a box of Kleenex and click play:

Perriello ‘We Will Keep Stealing’ Video Taken by Welborn Freedom Watch Blog

If you have not seen this short video of Congressman Perriello saying “If you don’t tie our hands, we will keep stealing”, spend the minute. It is well worth it.

This video has already been seen over 20,000 times, and I suspect far more than that, as the Youtube counters are never correct.

What is amazing is that this viral video was taken and produced by Audrey Welborn, who blogs at Welborn Freedom Watch.
Well, not really amazing to me. I have mentioned her blog before and read it often. In a day and age were true journalism is dead, it is good to see citizen journalists like Audrey Welborn bringing on the scoops!

Great job!

A Coffee Party Group Therapy Session

This is so funny. The Coffee party pretends to be a group of people that want to “bring America together” and stop the arguing. They claim to be a diverse group of citizens concerned with the way things are going in Washington.

This video shows a group therapy session and makes it clear that these are simply Obama supporting Socialists unable to face the reality that America rejects their ideas.

Democrats Failed to Pass Health Reform by Begging, Borrowing, Stealing and Bribery. Now Cheating Ruled Out

Looks like a game changer, folks. The Democrat’s plan to cheat health care reform through the House is in jeopardy.

Democrats efforts to beg the American people to go along with their legislation failed.

Democrats efforts to borrow more money to pass the legislation have failed.

Democrats efforts to steal money from Medicare to pay for the expensive reform legislation failed.

Democrats efforts to bribe lawmakers into votes have failed.

And now, it looks like the Democrats efforts to cheat the bill through will also come up short.

The possibility of using the Senate procedure called Reconciliation to pass sweeping Health Care Legislation has become the last hope of Democrats, desperate to push this bill through before they are once again the minority in the House and Senate.

Reconciliation has been used in the past for a few items, but never like this. It was not designed to thwart the rules of the Senate and bypass legislative protocol. Where is was used in the past, there was bipartisan support. Enough to overcome the 60 votes required for cloture.

The Senate parliamentarian ruled on Thursday that the Senate can only take up a reconciliation bill if the original Senate bill is first signed into law.

Which means that a underhanded tactic being considered in the House where by voting on a second bill designed to “fix” the Senate bill, somehow the Senate bill would be deemed as passed.

The Parliamentarian says that the Senate bill must already be law in order for the Senate to take up reconciliation on the legislation.

And since Pelosi planned a Three Card Monte game on the Senate Health Reform Act, where the House never votes on the Senate bill, the word from the Senate is – ain’t gonna happen.

Listen to the explanation from the Horses mouth.

YouTube Preview Image

REP. NANCY PELOSI (D-CA): “The Senate Parliamentarian, As You Have Said, Said In Order For Them To Do A Reconciliation Based On The Senate Bill, It Must Be Signed By The President.” “The bills that have passed, ours with 220 in the House, theirs with 60 in the Senate, we’ll be acting upon the Senate bill with changes that were in the House bill reflected in the reconciliation. So in order to have the Senate bill be the basis and build upon it with the reconciliation, you have to pass the Senate bill, or else you’re talking about starting from scratch. So we will pass the Senate bill. Once we pass it, the President signs it or doesn’t, it’s – people would rather he waited until the Senate acted, but the Senate Parliamentarian, as you have said, said in order for them to do a reconciliation based on the Senate bill, it must be signed by the President.” (Rep. Pelosi, Press Conference, 3/12/10)

And this exchange on the House floor between Virginia’s Eric Cantor and Steny Hoyer (D-Md) confirms the understanding:

YouTube Preview Image

REP. ERIC CANTOR (R-VA): “I would ask the gentleman if it is his position that that would be the case, that this House must pass the Senate bill first, it must be signed into law before the Senate can even take up the reconciliation package? And I yield.” REP. STENY HOYER (D-MD): “I think the gentleman correctly states the Senate parliamentarian’s position. And therefore I think the gentleman is correct.” (Remarks, House Floor, 3/12/10)
