This one is a bit curious.

PolitiFact, the Democrat’s pretend version of truth analysis has ranked a campaign promise by Governor Bob McDonnell as “Stalled” despite the fact that McDonnell is only midway through the 4 legislative sessions that will occur during his Governorship.

You would think there were more important things to “debunk” these days.

Nonetheless, PolitiFact decided to rank this promise that the McDonnell campaign indicated they would introduce as legislation by the 2013 session anyway.

The item has not been accomplished yet but neither is the time up.

PolitiFact Watcher ranks this one a Premature Evaluation.

Perhaps the writers over there should bone up on the effective date of the promise before they decide to evaluate anything like this again.

It’s a good thing they are shooting blanks.

Politifact has published their verdict of Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell’s campaign promise to establish an entity to oversee ethics issues and violations and concluded that McDonnell has broken that promise.

So when it comes to policing state government, McDonnell has opted for an inspector general’s office instead of an ethics commission. Then governor’s office said there’s no need to have two groups that overlap.

But during his campaign, McDonnell pledged to establish both entities. So we rate this a Promise Broken.

PolitiFact has, as is their pattern, distorted and twisted the facts to fit their left wing partisan agenda.

The last sentence is the kicker. McDonnell did not promise to create two separate entities. PolitiFact even quoted the Campaign Promise in their post, but failed to comprehend the statement:

Independent state ethics commission - Virginia is one of only 10 states without an independent ethics commission. Bob McDonnell will establish a permanent, statewide independent agency that will provide advice and research as well as evaluate complaints concerning elected officials and appointees to boards, commissions and other public bodies.

There is nothing in this statement that in any way lays claim that there will be an agency created that is solely responsible for ethics investigation and only ethics investigation. Indeed, additional responsibilities are clearly stated in this promise “that will provide advice and research as well as evaluate complaint”.

Governor McDonnell created an Inspector General office that fulfilled both his promise to create such an office and this office has been granted broad powers to investigate ethics complaints as well. PolitiFact has previously acknowledged McDonnell fulfilled his promise to create the IG office.

Taylor Thornley, a spokeswoman for the governor, said the scope of the new inspector’s office will be “much broader and more comprehensive than anything we’ve ever had before.”

“The new inspector general has the ability to search anywhere in state government for fraud, waste and abuse,” Thornley said in an e-mail. “Previously, only a few, select agencies had IGs that only covered those specific agencies. The IG can now receive complaints from citizens, not just state employees like in the past.”

But Governor McDonnell did what the liberals at PolitiFact cannot comprehend. He managed to kill two birds with one stone. By combining the two promises into one office, he has managed to both fulfill his promise and maintain the efficiency that has turned the massive Tim Kaine deficits into a surplus.

Instead of an unfulfilled promise, the Governor has actually kept two promises and saved the taxpayers a lot of money.

We rate this PolitiFact rating as a LIE.

Politifact has come out with another example of their left wing bias with this one. First and foremost, the statement made by Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell is correct. The ObamaCare law does, in fact, take more the $700 Billion from MediCare and move it to ObamaCare because the president promised to not sign the bill if it increased the deficit. The only way to make ObamaCare balance was to use money that was supposed to go elsewhere. Wouldn’t it be nice of PolitiFact just looked at the facts for a change?   The Richmond Times Dispatch has outlined some of the crippling aspects of the misnamed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. A doctors’ group in western Henrico County has made a decision it hoped to avoid. The doctors say their social devotion to helping their community’s most unfortunate residents has been trumped by dollars and sense. They have decided to stop participating in Medicaid, the health-care program for the needy funded by federal and state governments. I am not sure if the Democrat Leader of the U.S. Senate was attempting to overcompensate for his homosexual Freudian slip calling Delaware’s Chris Coons his “pet” or he has been watching too many episodes of the AMC network’s Mad Men, but Harry Reid definitely crossed the line of  propriety and decorum while introducing Senator Kristen Gillebrand.  At the fundraiser Mayor Bloomberg hosted for him at his townhouse Reid referred to her as “the hottest member” as she sat just a few feet away, according to three sources. A Reid spokesman confirmed it happened, but also noted that the Democratic Majority Leader also praised Gillibrand for her work. Then he turned his attention to Gillibrand, saying something about how “many senators are known for many things,” according to a source. He added, “We in the Senate refer to Sen. Gillibrand as the hottest member.” I can see the cover of next week’s Newsweek now;

Jimmy Carter will appear on 60 Minutes tonight. Widely recognized as ”The Worst President Ever”, Carter is sensing that by passing the horrible Obamacare legislation, Barack Obama has now replaced him and taken this dubious dishonor. In an attempt to salvage his legacy, Jimmy will argue that had it not been for Teddy Kennedy killing it, his version of government controlled  Health Care would have become law during his term. Today The Hill reported that Harry Reid has adopted a new pet in the self-proclaimed “bearded Marxist” and Delaware Democrat Senatorial nominee Chris Coons. Forbes magazine’s cover story “How Obama Thinks”  by Dinesh D’Souza offers a brilliant explanation of the inexplicable behavior our 44th President. The strange policies, bizarre actions and  general oddities have frustrated and befuddled Americans (both critics and supporters alike).   The 2010 edition of the 9-12 Rally in DC was, at a distance, very similar to the 2009 version; patriots attended from all across the nation, the wore colorful clothing and carried very witty signs. The numbers didn’t quite match last year but given many who might have attended were just in DC on 8-28 at Glenn Becks Restoring Honor Rally, the turnout was impressive. What struck me most was the notable difference between ’09 and ’10.
