You’re Talking Tsunami!

In his first 20 months  President  Obama has claimed to be focused on the following issues, items, opportunities, etc.  . Here we go;          Goals that are clear and achievable in Afghanistan  (Gates, McChrystal, and Petraeus are focused; Obama rarely mentions it)*           The economy (If he has been focused on it, I question his intentions for it)    His energy goals (Given that his energy goals include skyrocketing electricity rates and $8.00/gallon gasoline we should celebrate his failure on this).   Making the middle class more secure and the country more competitive so that the jobs and industries of the future were not outsourced to China and India  (I’m not…

Those People Should Be Thanking Me! (The Audacity of The Left)

Rep. Rick Boucher is asking voters to believe he was acting in their best interest when he voted for the coal killing cap and trade bill. Boucher was chairman of the energy sub-committee of the previous Congress which first drafted the legislation, and was deemed to be instrumental in the bills development. Boucher opened his pre-vote remarks on the bill by saying that he was in “strong support of the bill.” [ The challenger Morgan Griffith, one of the most influential and efffective members of the Virginia General Assembly, opposes the Obama/Pelosi/Boucher “cap and trade” scheme. I am an American For Prosperity and Self Admittedly, Obama is Not

Obama was back on the Stump down in Texas and he gave us a little more insight into who the real Obama is. This is the most unpresidential president of my lifetime (and yes, that includes Jimmy Carter). He openly attacked a group of Americans questioning their legitimacy.   Right now all around this country there are groups with harmless-sounding names like Americans for Prosperity, who are running millions of dollars of ads against Democratic candidates all across the country.  And they don’t have to say who exactly the Americans for Prosperity are.  You don’t know if it’s a foreign-controlled corporation. You don’t know if it’s a big oil company, or a big bank.  You don’t know if it’s a insurance company that wants to see some of the provisions in health reform repealed because it’s good for their bottom line, even if it’s not good for the American people. Well Mr. President, you can tell a lot about who they are by …

You’re Fired!

Aug 5th – Ed Whitacre, CEO of GM said “We don’t like this label of ‘Government Motors,’ Whitacre said at the Center for Automotive Research’s annual Management Briefing Seminars . “We know it’s turned off customers. It turns us off. It embarrasses people.” We’re moving towards going public again. Uppermost in our mind is getting the government out of our business.” Aug 14th- General Motors today said that Edward E. Whitacre, Jr. will step down as chief executive officer on September 1, 2010, and as chairman of the board by the end of the year. Industry insiders are shocked and claim Obama did not like Whitacre’s Obama Motors comments.   Obama has now fired more managers than George Steinbrenner

The Plunder continues

Although there are some $400,000,000,000 Stimulus dollars of the $820,000,000,000 already ‘appropriated’, Nancy Pelosi summoned her henchpersons to Washington today for a two pronged mission. Mission One:  Steal another $2,000,000,000 from future Americans (let’s not kid ourselves here, we’re not paying for it.  Kids and embryos will shoulder this burden) and pay off the Teachers unions, Firefighters unions and other public sector unions to make sure that they muscle their drones to the polls in November.  Mission Two: To provide cover for congresscritters who SHOULD be in their home districts answering to the people, but were given the opportunity to flee in order to vote on this important legislation.  Maybe THIS was Mission One. The Bill with No Name passed 247-161 today. Regardless, for those in Virginia keeping score, that would be a YES vote from congressmen Perriello, Nye, Scott, Boucher, Connolly

Code Pink Rally Round the (alleged)Traitor

Alleged traitor and the new darling of Code Pink and the other war protestors Bradley Manning is being held in Quantico, Va. pending possible trial on charges he leaked numerous diplomatic cables plus secret video of a 2007 U.S. helicopter attack on unarmed men in Baghdad. On Sunday the first ever Free Bradley Manning Rally was held in the Quantico town park just outside of  the military installation of the same name. Since Cindy Sheehan retired this group has been looking for someone to energize their movement and they have latched on to this suspected dishonorable private.  Being a veteran of many tea party rallies in Virginia and Washington D.C. I must say their effort was lacking in substance and energy. Just when it looked like the day might pass without incident the courageous members of the CNN crew got into a heated confrontation with law enforcement as seen at the end of this exclusive footage shot by our own P. Henry Saddlebur while in deep cover.  Code Pink was not alone, there was also a counter protest at the park sponsored by the Washington chapter of FreeRepublic…

I can’t wait to read the book!

According to National Journal Christina Romer has decided to call it quits. “She has been frustrated,” a source with insight into the WH economics team said. “She doesn’t feel that she has a direct line to the president. She would be giving different advice than Larry Summers [director of the National Economic Council], who does have a direct line to the president.” “She is ostensibly the chief economic adviser, but she doesn’t seem to be playing that role,” the source said. The WH has been pounded for its faulty forecast that unemployment would not top 8% after its economic stimulus proposal passed. http://hotlineoncall.nationaljournal.com/archives/2010/08/romer_to_leave.php Prior to joining the Obama regime Romer and her husband David published a paper espousing that if stimulus is necessary during a recession, it is much better to do it with monetary policy rather than fiscal because fiscal stimulus is slow to get through the pipeline and it tends to be ineffective. The 847 billion dollar failed stimulus has provided Romer with a steaming pile of evidence to support her premise. I …

Not that there’s anything wrong with that, or is there?

District Federal Judge rules the California gay marriage ban unconstitutional and oh yeah, according to the SF Chronicle he’s gay. “The biggest open secret in the landmark trial over same-sex marriage being heard in San Francisco is that the federal judge who will decide the case, Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker , is himself gay. Many gay politicians in San Francisco and lawyers who have had dealings with Walker say the 65-year-old jurist, appointed to the bench by President George H.W. Bush in 1989, has never taken pains to disguise – or advertise – his orientation.” http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2010/02/07/BACF1BT7ON.DTL#ixzz0vgGVMjy4 I guess one might argue that the judges sexual persuasion does not necessarily affect his impartiality but the fact that on two occasions higher courts have had to intervene in Judge Walker’s court proceedings to restrict him from giving an undue advantage to the plaintiff is at the very least curious. First by attempting to break federal court rules against televising hearings and then by trying to deny the defense their first amendment rights by trying…

Obama’s mistaken sense of direction

Yesterday Obama was on the stump campaigning in Atlanta. He went on about how the Republicans haven’t proposed any new ideas. At one point in his speech he abandoned the teleprompter to deliver his lame comedy routine about the car going into the ditch and now that he and his liberal congress have managed to get back on the pavement, this is no time to turn the “keys” back to the Republicans. I happened to be listening to this on the radio as Obama clumsily delivered  his monologue, in my minds eye, I pictured him not behind the Presidential Seal on the podium but in front of the red brick wall at the improv on open mic night. Anyway, the jokester in chief went on to add that when you want to go forward you put the transmission in D and when you want to go backward you put it in R (at this point the drones roar with laughter). Well the efforts put forth to get out of the…

Disrupt Laundry Day

It can’t be ALL POLITICS ALL THE TIME.  Everybody hates laundry and although our modern conveniences preclude us from dragging out dirty little things down to the creek and pounding them on a rock to get them clean, laundry still sucks with a capital S. I saw this on Ace   who found it on Gizmodo and it’s worth the minute plus. Sometimes people just need to take their frustrations out on inanimate objects, like Martin McMartin and I did yesterday.  It’s stupid.  It’s senseless.  IT’S FUN. Seriousness is overrated sometimes.  Let out your inner Goofy.

Nothing is more conservative than a republican wanting to get their majority back. And nothing is more liberal than a republican WITH a majority.
