Tonja Dausand, an awesome liberty and sovereignty activist, behind enemy lines in California, reported to me this:
Hi again,
I spoke with Robert Kappel in Soux Falls (605) 367-8277. He told me that they have not renewed their memebership with ICLEI at this year for financial reasons but it’s possible they might.
All the best,
Tonja Dausend
Thanks and a shout out to Tonja for all she does.

I blogged on the adventures of Special Rapporteur James Ayala, sent by the UN Human Rights Council (You mean the one with Saudi Arabia on it? Yes, dear readers, that one!) to investigate US treatment of Original Americans. Ayala called for reparations but thankfully Congress did not even meet with him.
Here’s the latest idea from Special Rapporteur Ayala: Give Mount Rushmore back to the Original Americans. No, you can’t make stuff like this up about the UN!
South Dakota’s Black Hills, home to the granite faces carved into Mt. Rushmore, should be restored as Native American tribal lands, a

Today come to the National Day of Prayer at 530 and then afterwards head over to the Mechanicsville Tea Party to hear John Taylor of the Virginia Policy Institute speak on the Battle for the Soul of America: The philosophy of the Founding Fathers v. progressivism. Sounds like a great speech and I am sorry I can’t make it. If you can be there, go there!
MTP is moving its meeting nights to Wednesdays! Starting in June – first and third Wednesday! 7pm.
Also I have a report that the Mathews County GOP, following the lead of Gloucester and Middlesex … Read the rest

Two blogs have confirmed that Clackamas County (OR) has decided NOT to RENEW its membership the unconstitutional ICLEI. Here’s the first one:
Apr 27th, 2012 Roxanne Ross Reports…
County Commissoner Jamie Damon announced at today’s Clackamas County Board of County Commissioners that Clackamas County would not be renewing their ICLEI membership at the next renewal time! It is close to the end of the citizen comments just before the County Commissioner’s Communications right after I spoke asking them to dump ICLEI.
Here’s the second one:
An announcement of momentous import was made at the April 26th 2012 Board of

I was pleased to see that the anti-ICLEI/Agenda 21 bill passed a preliminary test in the House. I blogged on this before and I have contacted Senator Burges’ office about this.
This bill would do more than just ban ICLEI – it would ban any implementation of the Rio Declaration in Arizona. The opponents are predictably shrill about what could happen if it passes:
Opponents say the bill, if signed into law, will shut down any government-led environmental initiative, such as Energize Phoenix, a stimulus-funded, $25 million program to improve energy efficiency in homes and businesses near the light-rail route

I had an email exchange with Robert Cox at Talk of the Sound and I am satisfied that Westchester County is indeed OUT of ICLEI. While there is at least one municipality in ICLEI within Westchester County, it is a community of nearly 950,000 persons OUT of ICLEI. I plan to find out more on this breaking story as to why the county decided to GET OUT of ICLEI.

I am owing a huge apology to Robert Cox and the Talk of the Sound. It is a lot more than just a blog group: They are a local media source that dares to take on local officials on issues of all sorts and project a good image for their community. It’s easy to call some politico in Oregon an idiot but when it is a local official, that’s another thing altogether.
Cox is Managing Editor of the Talk of the Sound. He double and triple checks all his stories. Cox is firmly against ICLEI and Agenda 21. He got … Read the rest

A new county has left ICLEI: Chatham County, NC! This is reported by Tom DeWeese’s American Policy Center!
Following Carroll County, next came Amador County, California, as the county commissioners voted to end their membership in ICLEI; then came Montgomery County, PA; followed by Edmond, Oklahoma, Las Cruces, New Mexico. The successful battle against ICLEI in Spartanburg, South Carolina was sparked by County Commissioner Roger Nutt; Virginia became a hotbed of activity against Agenda 21 and ICLEI, especially through the efforts of activists like Donna Holt, Cathy Turner and Charles Battig, to name a few. I got an email from one of my reliable sources that, indeed, the City of Waltham, Massachusetts has given ICLEI the boot!
Last summer, the tireless, indefatigable patriot and activist Hal Shurtleff came to Waltham and did this video on the UN and ICLEI. He called it the “sovereignty-destroying, anti-American ICLEI” (Hal’s right on this point!)
But I heard from Hal that Waltham had in fact left that sovereignty-destroying, anti-American ICLEI and I awaited confirmation and I got it – the forwarding of an email from the Mayor of Waltham saying yes we are out of ICLEI!
Don’t make Hal … Read the rest

This editorial at bloomberg.com wrote this scary comment on the US veto at the US Security Council. They called for the US to unilaterally give up their veto – along with the other permanent members! Here’s some low-lights:
This illustrates why the veto for the five permanent members of the Security Council has become an increasingly dangerous anachronism that, as part of larger reforms, should be given up.

We think the U.S. should lead the way by calling for the abolition of the veto and the expansion of the council’s permanent membership to Japan, Germany, India and Brazil. There

Just when there were faint signs of liberalization in the PRC (People’s Republic of California), the regime City Council of Benicia (CA) decided they did not need any public discussion of ICLEI or Agenda 21:
In what is perhaps the most incredulous act of political indifference, the City Council, on April 3rd, voted 4 to 1 against a public request for an open discussion on the issue of Agenda 21. The rationale was extreme as vice-mayor Campbell and council member Schwartzman professed an innate ability to judge a “contract” on its merits regardless of the origin of the

Pro-market UN development policies? Sounds like an oxymoron (pun not intended!) to me! But there actually is some encouraging items in this article:
The Millennium Development goals sound like and in some ways are congruent with Agenda 21 (Note number seven below) and here they are:
At present, the goals are:
- Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
- Achieve universal primary education
- Promote gender equality and empower women
- Reduce child mortality
- Improve maternal health
- Combat HIV/AIDs, malaria, and other diseases
- Ensure environmental sustainability

Add Martin County Florida GOP to the growing Anti-Agenda 21 Committees.
Executive Committee Member Jim Stack was kind enough to provide his observations:
On Monday night (09Apr2012) the Martin County Florida Republican Executive Committee voted on a Resolution (presented by Mona Leonard, precinct committeewoman) to expose Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development. The vote was taken by voice and was overwhelmingly passed. There were NO opposing voices.
Chairwoman Susan Auld was supportive and extremely helpful in presenting this resolution to the members.
The Martin County Florida GOP is one of six GOP organizations that has an anti Agenda 21/Sustainable Development plank …

I like this resolution from the Denver County GOP on ICLEI and Agenda 21! It’s short, sweet and to the point. Here it is:
RESOLUTION 5 – Opposing the United Nations Agenda 21
Whereas, The United Nations Agenda 21 promotes international directives and agendas and such as “smart growth”
and “sustainable development” through the use of unrepresentative government boards to create taxes or otherwise
obtain public funds resulting in the regulation and management of Colorado citizens; and

While bills banning ICLEI have been introduced in several states, the best effort was quietly done in Arizona. The Senate and a House committee have voted to prevent the state and all its political subdivisions from implementing the Rio Declaration (That’s where Agenda 21 comes from!) and it bans ICLEI in Arizona! It passed the house committee by a unanimous vote, according to the Arizona Republic. There’s more:
The bill would bar the state and Arizona counties and cities “from adopting or implementing the United Nations Rio Declaration on Environment and Development.”
Under the provisions of Burges’ bill, the
