Code Red Rally Part Two – Saturday March 20, 2010

Posted From the Washington DC Tea Party

THE CODE RED RALLY RETURNS

WASHINGTON, DC (March 18, 2010) – The past two weeks has seen the “Take The Town Halls To Washington” initiative get nearly 1,000 people to DC to meet with approximately 30 Congressman. The event culminated in the rally at Taft Park near the Capitol which was sponsored by Tea Party Express. Over 1,500 people assembled to rally against the healthcare bill and then meet with their representatives. While the Capitol Police diverted the stage and sound for the park rally, grass roots activists innovated and used a park bench and bull horn to get their message to the attendees!

With the critical nature of a looming Congressional decision, a broad coalition of Tea Party organizations and leadership is launching the final push before a possible vote by the House. These events are being coordinated across the US and are aimed at communicating the frustration of the people while demanding the termination of this health bill legislation. While the DNC and the administration continue to obfuscate and confuse, this coalition is focused on getting activists involved prior to Pelosi’s maneuvering.

The following actions are planned for the next 72 hours:

Calling campaigns to the House by constituents to vote no on the bill

·”Talk to Washington” healthcare town halls in Mississippi, Pennsylvania and other states

·Code Red rally in Washington, DC at 12 noon on Saturday at Upper Senate Park

Nationwide “Virtual Vigil” on BlogTalk radio sponsored by DoctorsandPatients.org

·Candlelight vigil around the Capitol on Saturday night

Featured speakers at the Washington, D.C. Rally on Saturday will include:

Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann (MN)
Congressman Tom Price (GA)
Congressman Joe Wilson (SC)
Congressman Phil Gingrey (GA)
Actor & Conservative Jon Voight
Dr. Milton Wolf, Barack Obama’s second cousin who opposes Obamacare
·Colin Hanna, Let Freedom Ring
Jim Martin, 60 Plus
Phil Kerpen, Americans for Prosperity
Tim Phillips, Americans for Prosperity
Andrew Langer, Institute for Liberty
Kathryn Serkes, Doctor Patient Medical Association
Mark Skoda, Memphis Tea Party
Amy Kremer, Tea Party Express
Jennifer Hulsey, American Grassroots Coalition
FreedomWorks Representative
Ben Cunningham, Founder of the Tennessee Tax Revolt
Darla Dawald, Grassfire / Resistnet

Grass roots activists everywhere have worked to inform themselves, notify their representatives of their objections and take action in the form of rallies, meetings and calls into those representatives. Individual groups have worked to stop the healthcare legislation while coordinating with each other to amplify their message and their efforts.

Amy Kremer, of Tea Party Express, commented, “We had a great rally this week in DC and people have overwhelmed us with their desire to do it again on Saturday. With so many people concerned about this legislation and the ability to come to Washington on a weekend, we are working within this coalition to expand the Code Red rally participation .”

The coalition of Tea Party organizations and leadership is committed to changing the dynamics of this legislative process. The Democratic led Congress is using procedural and legislative rules to ignore the overwhelming opposition to this bill. The will of the American people is being subverted by these actions and the grass roots activists who make up this coalition are focusing their energy to kill the bill.

The coalition includes:
60 Plus
Americans for Prosperity
Americans for Tax Reform
Concerned Women for America
Constitutional Sovereignty Alliance
Constitutional Tea Party
Doctor Patient Medical Association
Family Research Council
FreedomWorks
Grassfire/Resistnet
Heartland Institute
Institute for Liberty

Once again I think you do not get it.

You and the president are now trying another run at BURDENING YOUR CONSTITUENTS WITH SOMETHING THEY DO NOT WANT!

The welfare state you support is unsustainable and will collapse. The current level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous. We are spending trillions that we don’t have! When I was in school I learned that this process will lead to hyperinflation, depression or worse.

No country has ever spent themselves into prosperity. More and more of even your supporters realize
    the huge bailouts didn’t work,
    nor will the stimulus package.

It is apparent that these were trillion-dollar payoffs to Obama’s short sighted allies, including unions and the Congress to placate the left etc.

The sin is that so will this American experiment. GOD Forbid.

We, The PEOPLE realize that THIS CORRUPTION that is spending of money on the BACK OF OUR CHILDREN, is so OUT OF CONTROL that it cannot be ignored.

CONGRATULATIONS, YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS AND THEIR ARROGANCE HAVE MADE IT NECESSARY THAT THE PEOPLE have understood you message, REJECTED it and will not be ignored.

Those who do not do the people’s wishes will be voted out.

    Patriot not Progressive,

  2. Mike says:

I want Healthcare too, but let’s just start over and get this thing right so that the majority of the folks are comfortable with it. This really IS possible and we can do it with the Obama administration.

This has just gotten way out of control and now this great country is even more divided than it was when George Bush left office!

I vow to do everything in my power (within legal limitations of course!) to help throw out ANY politician who votes for this bill.

  3. Michael Glancey says:

Anyone who votes for this bill is TOAST regardless of excuses! This bill’s trip through Congress has galvanized the ordinary citizen more than anything in my lifetime. We are ashamed of these half truth merchants.

In addition, we will follow those who vote yes and leave office for some kind of patronage position.

Voters will find out the truth no matter how hard they try to obscure it!

  4. Terry says:

Could someone please post the time and location of the vigil tonight? Two of us want to come to the vigil but can’t get to the afternoon events. Thank you!

  5. reACTIONary says:

RE: I want Healthcare too, but let’s just start over and get this thing right…

We’ve been “starting over” to “get this thing right” since 1947. The current proposal is about the same as the Republican response to Clinton’s proposal last time. Its time to GET THIS DONE!!!

    Health care NOW!!!!

  6. reACTIONary says:

RE: has galvanized the ordinary citizen more than anything in my lifetime…

In a few years everyone will be as supportive of health care as they are now with social security.

  7. reACTIONary says:

RE: You and the president are now trying another run at BURDENING YOUR CONSTITUENTS WITH SOMETHING THEY DO NOT WANT!

Are you kidding? People don’t want health care? They do want insurance companies taking their money and kicking them out when the actually get sick?

Countries that have organized health care system have LESS COST per capita, BETTER results, and EVERYONE included.

    Support HEALTH CARE!!!

    • Tom White says:

Well, let’s see. This does not touch the cost of medical procedures and defensive medicine, tort reform (Obama is a slave to the trial lawyers) and the root problem with our system. It is an attack on the enemy as the progressives see it: The Insurance Companies.

Why are they the enemy? Simple. If Obama can put them out of business, they can allow complete government control of the health industry. Single payer.

That is the goal. Eliminate the competition to single payer.

This bill will raise premiums, force doctors and pharmacies to drop Medicare and Medicaid patients and kill the elderly, who are a drag on society as far as Obama sees them.

In 2006, the people got tired of Bush spending money and fired the Republicans. In 2008, they fired Bush and more Republicans. So we could finally get control of the debt.

The problem is, the replacements are far worse.

Democrats are all freeloaders. They want someone else to work and provide them with their needs.

Sorry. No free lunch, you moochers!

    • AmericanPatriot says:

reACTIONary, either you don’t get it or you’re just trying to stir people up with falsehoods. The issue is not Healthcare Reform. The issue is this particular bill which is full of crap that will collapse our country…such as government take over of student loans (the pell grant was thrown in there), throwing too many people into receiving free healthcare at one time and the astronomical amount of money needed to pay for this. Yesterday when I called a congressman in DC to urge a vote of NO, the switches got crossed and I got connected to another caller who wanted them to vote YES. So we talked. She told me of her heartache of a mom and sister with diabetes and how they didn’t have healthcare and she was one month late on her mortgage for the first time. I then told her I had been unemployed for over 15 months and without healthcare. I also have diabetes. I am 3 months late on my mortgage and in danger of losing my home. I said I still do NOT want healthcare because when I do get a job, I’ll be paying more in taxes and my service will when I do go to the doctor will eventually be hindered. My particular endocrinologist also said he’d leave practice if this goes through. I am heartbroken by that because the guy is a genious. Right before we were cut off, she said maybe she should rethink her opinion. I can only pray she did. There are tales of woe out there and this bill will not solve it. It will only make our lives worse. You have to always look at all aspects and not just the pieces that make healthcare for all attractive. The bottom line is, I’ll do it myself. If I can’t, my family, church and friends will come to my aid. I believe, however, I’ll do it myself. It’s all a state of mind.

  8. tony the patriot says:

Any time the government touches any thing , it goes belly up. We don’t need America to go that way. Given the public opposition to this bill, the people are engaged in getting correction for the broken parts of the system.. Keep them involved and fix the broken parts of government and the health care process. Uphold the Constitution!
