Malvina Reynolds
I ran across this video done to a Malvina Reynolds song from 1962 called Little Boxes. I do remember this song from my youth (I was 8 years old), but it had no particular meaning to me at the time. Mentally, I put it in the same classification as One Eyed One Horned Flying Purple People Eater. Just a silly song about nothing.
In this new age of Socialistic policies envisioned by the Democrats, this video speaks volumes about the ideals of socialism. The sameness. The boring conformity to a dull and drab existence.
A world where the question “What’s new with you?” is truly rhetorical.
The idea is to quash individuality and make us all the same. Same medical plan, drive the same car, work at menial and low paying jobs set up by the Jobs Czar and regulated by the Pay Czar.
A world where we cease to really live, and simply exist. With no hope of anything more than we have in the present. No dreams. No visions. We have food, medicine, basic transportation, free education molded by the government to turn out molded clones. Government controlled robots.
The only “endearing” quality of the new Socialistic life is that while we will never have more than we do right now, we also will never have less than the lowest common denominator.
Hardly the trade-off I want.

greetings from Europe, you haven’t moved on since you were a child, have you?
This song was actually a commentary on the post-Eisenhower era in America! Although, it somewhat captures the essence of the authors’ point.
Malvina Reynolds would be livid to be quoted by such a right wing non-thinker, or she might just laugh at someone whose minds got put into a very little box and now everything out of his mouth is ticky-tacky!
