The facts seem pretty clear. A very large black man attacked a white cop and paid for the mistake.
Police are trained to escalate a situation ahead of the curve. Which means that if you are asked to get out of the street and stop blocking traffic and your response is to attack the cop and go for his gun, 99% of the time you are going to get shot.
The smart solution is to move your ass to the sidewalk and say “Have a nice day, officer.”
You go home and the cop goes home. Crisis and needless death avoided.
But thanks to Rap “Artists” who fill these kids heads with a distrust and hatred of the police and a pervasive attitude of rebellion against “the Man” young blacks feel justified in disrespecting the police – in particular white cops. So, yea. That is racist. Pretty much the text book definition.
And while the music starts the smoldering sparks, agitators like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton pour gasoline on the sparks and Eric Holder fans the flames.
The Grand Jury has reached a decision. Will they return a True Bill or Not True? Every bit of evidence suggests the officer acted in self defense. So I would wager that Officer Wilson goes free. Or at least is not charged and put on trial.
But let us not fail to consider the sorry case of vigilante justice perpetrated in Florida against an innocent George Zimmerman. The threat of violence and fear of riots saw a prosecutor in the “Sunshine” state persecute Zimmerman who was not charged because he acted in self defense. But the usual suspects and the threat of riots and fires caused this vigilante by proxy prosecutor go after an innocent man. And the jury acquitted.
And since the threat of riots worked in Florida, why not in Ferguson?
Should the Grand Jury find no reason to charge Wilson, as expected by all sides, will a prosecutor or Eric Holder find a reason to harass this officer? That is a bet I wouldn’t take. Because what serves for justice in this country is no longer what is directed by the law, but what is necessary to placate thuggish groups of gangsters looking for an excuse to have a good riot. the laws of the United States be damned.
And in the words of the Obama Administration, let’s not waste a good crisis. Even if we have to instigate it.
Burning down the house.
