The last poll that ABC News / Washington Post released was done September 7-9 2012. This poll had a “Skew Rate” of +9 in favor of the Democrats. (See this analysis.)
The Cross Tabs, located here, show the percentages of Republicans, Democrats and Independents sampled at the very bottom of the poll just beneath thoes all important questions like which candidate’s music list you would most likely want and which one you would rather have dinner with.
The latest poll, released today has removed the party breakdown. (Here.)
An analysis of some of the common questions shows that the reason WaPo / ABC omitted the party breakdown was that this poll looks to be skewed by about +12 Democrats (3% more than the last poll) and Obama only has a 1% gain.
So had they not hidden the Demographic breakdown, a head to head comparison would easily detect a decline in support for Obama. And we can’t have that, can we?
The one interesting response to the really mundane and stupid questions like “Who would you rather go camping with” and “Who would you rather invite to dinner” was the “Who would you trust to babysit your kids?”
All the other ones Romney scores in the lower 30’s and Obama hits 50% to near 60%.
But they tie at 41% each when it comes to looking out for the most precious thing most of us have – our kids.
Trust for Romney goes up a good bit and Obama drops like a rock.
So while they may prefer to go camping or eat dinner with Obama, when it come to the important things, he does not do as well.
