Americans for Prosperity Tells Boucher: ‘Your Policies are Killing Virginia Jobs’

RICHMOND– New television and radio ads will begin airing today in Virginia’s 9th congressional district that urges citizens to contact Rick Boucher and tell him that his policies are killing Virginia jobs. To view the television ad, click here. To listen to the radio ad, click here.

The ad states that Rick Boucher has turned his back on Virginians by supporting the Pelosi-Obama agenda that’s killing jobs. The ad quotes The Roanoke Times saying that Boucher “played a key role” passing a cap-and-trade energy tax, which the ad claims will “likely increase utility rates in Virginia, raise taxes on businesses struggling in a bad economy, and put more Virginians out of work.”

The ad points out that even the Environmental Protection Agency, controlled by Obama, says the energy tax could hurt manufacturing and ship American jobs overseas.

“While Virginia businesses struggle to compete, the Boucher-Pelosi-Obama agenda is working against them. Call Rick Boucher and tell him his policies are killing Virginia jobs.”

The combined ad buys total over $110,000 and will run on network and cable channels in the district starting today and continuing through October 31. It is part of Americans for Prosperity’s November Is Coming initiative – providing citizens a mechanism to tell politicians if they support freedom-killing legislation, like cap-and-trade or one of the endless bailouts, then citizens will remember in November.

“Rep. Boucher needs to hear from citizens on these key issues,” said Ben Marchi, state director of Americans for Prosperity-Virginia. “His policies are killing jobs and raising taxes, and the Virginia economy can’t afford it.”
