Thanks to determined patriots and a visionary elected official named Roger Nutt, the Spartanburg (SC) County Council voted to GET OUT of ICLEI!
As you know, Monday night Spartanburg County Council voted to remove our name from the roster of ICLEI, a UN sponsored program which has among its aims to promote more government-owned land and less private property land. And that thing about “meatless societies” but hey, as a vegetarian I … OH YOU KNOW I’M KIDDING!
Please thank your Council member …
Here’s the report from the Spartanburg Tea Party! Here’s the video – number three has the debate and (subcommitee) vote! The Tea Party says THANK your city council member! Right! Send the email and hug the ones who voted yes and run against the one who said no.
That is SEVEN municipalities that have gotten out of ICLEI since Carroll County’s action in January 2011. Maybe that was a Prague Spring after all…

I am proud of Spartanburg (my wife’s birthplace).
It is indeed an “ICLEI” Spring. That much is for sure.
