Deeds said he won't raise general fund taxes, although he would not take a pledge to guarantee that. However he has made it clear that any other way to raise money is wide open.

  3. You know, a lot of "conservatives" are home schoolers and they are too smart to be fooled by the old, quote a percentage, ploy. thirty four percent of a small number, is STILL SMALL.

As I pointed out on another post, I did the math, and the gas tax increase, if approved by the Assembly, would be a small change to my gas budget, and would only impact the average driver, an added twenty-five bucks per year.

I would prefer to make that contribution to roads at the pump, than to have to stop and pay TOLLs to foreign owned toll road operating companies like Mr, McDonnell's plan stipulates.

You have to get a laugh out of those attack adds and their use of that dramatic, movie preview-style music and voice over.

BTW, saw, The Informant! on Friday. Save your money and wait for the DVD. It is an interesting story about a serial liar; it reminded me of the Bush years.

I really like the ones that blame their opponent for "cutting" funding when they voted to reduce he amount of a requested increase. Cut an education increase in half and the ad will say "Slashes School Budget by 50%".

    Crocks one and all.

Nothing is more conservative than a republican wanting to get their majority back. And nothing is more liberal than a republican WITH a majority.
