My blogging hero, William Lloyd Garrison, once said, “John Brown has told us the time.” I would say to paraphrase that phrase for our time, that “Cyprus has told us the time.” It is time for us to control spending and debt or someday this will happen to us.
UKIP leader Nigel Farage was quoted here (in RussiaToday) that the EU is an “economic prison”; he’s right.
“We now find ourselves in a position where we are outvoted by 26 to 1. We are in a hopeless minority and yet we still have 75 per cent of our laws that run the United Kingdom made in these institutions,” said the politician. “Cameron’s not wishing to do this has now opened up the real debate in the UK about our European future.”
Farage warns the UK against an “economic prison” similar to the one now faced by the Greek people, whose lives are now falling under the control of their creditors: the European Union, the International Monetary Fund and the European Central Bank.
“The biggest threat we face now in Europe is to keep countries like Greece, Portugal, Ireland – even Spain and Italy – trapped inside an economic prison, stripped of their democracy. The governments of Italy and Greece were removed by these bully-boys in Brussels. The bigger threat for them is to stay and die a long economic death,” said Farage.
The President wants to have a free trade pact with the EU. I say NEVER! May those EU elites have NO SAY in our nation. The Constitution (next to the Bible most dear – and if we lived according to Biblical truth – we would not have the troubles we have today) must remain the supreme law of the land or we will end up like Cyprus. Cyprus has told us the time. It is time to get debt under control.
