Deeds Sends Desperate Email

Democratic candidate for Governor Creigh Deeds sent out an email to his supporters with the subject “McDonnell doesn’t get it“. The problem is, the email proved that it is Deeds that does not get it.

On Monday, Republican candidate for Governor Bob McDonnell’s manager Phil Cox sent out a clear, concise email with the subject “Bob Wins Debate“. In this email, Cox included many links to experts as well as media write ups to support his statement. At the end of the document was a button reading “Contribute” and the required election legal stuff.

Deed’s email was just a few sentences and begged for money four times. I understand that campaigns are an enormous financial drain, but this comes off as desperation. In addition, the email shows that Deeds is in denial that the economy set records under Bush 2004 – 2006 (and then he asks for money). Indeed, reading this email, you would think that the economy suffered the entire Bush presidency, and caused Virginia to suffer as well.

That would be bad enough, but after ripping McDonnell for 8 years of a “bad” economy under Bush, he then says how wonderful things were under Tim Kaine and Mark Warner (and asks for money). There may be a few VDOT workers that are not as happy with things under Kaine.

And he says Bob McDonnell wants to return to the economy of 2004 – 2006. (As I recall, the Dow was setting new records at that time, I want to return there.) And Deeds asks for more money.

Deeds claims he has a plan to fix the economy, but as Bob McDonnell managed to coax out of deeds at the debate, he plans to ask taxpayers for money.

Is anyone seeing a pattern with Creigh Deeds?
