The Huffington Post is reporting the possibility of a artificial machined part made of mostly aluminum in a 300,000,000 year old piece of coal.
The Earth was so young 300 million years ago, the first land animals had yet to evolve into dinosaurs, most scientists believe.
If that’s the case, how do you explain the discovery in Russia of a piece of a gear shift — a common machine part — embedded into a hunk of 300-million-year-old coal. Has this artifact been correctly identified? And if so, who could have made this thing? And for what purpose?
I personally am skeptical but it reminds me of odd stories collected by a researcher named Charles Fort. Many may be false but what if some are true? Fort reported strange items found in coal or similar mineral beds that ought to be too old for any such thing.
Despite his objections to Fort’s writing style, [author Colin] Wilson allows that “the facts are certainly astonishing enough” (Wilson, 200). * * * He [Fort] offered many reports of out-of-place artifacts (OOPArts), strange items found in unlikely locations.
I suspect this thing is an unusual crystal with an apparently artificial look. BUT what if the answer is: Maybe the coal was not formed 300,000,000 years ago? I realize that would overthrow modern science. I do not expect that to happen. BUT what if? What if there is evidence of an alternative: A young Earth? That might show the Bible is real!
I offer it for your thoughts and reminder that we simply do not know what the truth is – The Bible claims to be absolute truth (unlike science) and it does say there was a six day creation. Wouldn’t it be a shame if you or others places their trust in science and found out – it was wrong and the Bible was right! I recommend all my readers who do not know Christ as Savior and Lord give sober thought to what is truth. I’d hate to be in that spot and be wrong.
