Virginia is poised to send a message to the White House and the Obama Administration. Your Change is not welcomed in the Commonwealth. New Jersey and New York are trying to send the same message. Despite the fact that the White House is trying to spin the losses as no big deal, Democrats will do well to pay close attention if they expect to retain their seats in D.C.
Just how big the day will be in Virginia remain to be seen, but Republicans are expected to sweep the top 3 State Top of the Ticket offices and pick up anywhere from 4 to, perhaps, 10 seats in the Virginia House. (10 may be a pipe dream, but not impossible.)
Parties will be upbeat and celebratory tonight at the Richmond Marriott and other areas around the state. Democrats are expecting a terrific beating and there will likely be as little to cheer about at the Dems “Election Watch” gatherings.
Remember. Vote!

Very funny. The right side of the blogospheres calls Deeds too liberal while the progressive blogosphere simultaneously calls him too conservative. As a result, he has the Republicans rallied against him and the Democrats just aren’t turning out.
Is centrism dead in Virginia?

BigVinu- yes centrism is dead IN OFF YEAR ELECTIONS!! Only the hard core faithful vote in these off year cycles. I spoke with about half dozen Republicans not voting today in large part b/c the media has already given up on a Deeds Party and its in the bag I guess. You real enthusiam compared to last Fall on either side frankly. I think people are just full of too much anxiety these days and filled with alot of apathy. There very well may have seen this cycle as uninspiring. As far as campaigns go very little in the way of excitement really- save that thesis episode maybe. Many conservatives are staying home though from what others have told me in large part b/c they like both men–Deeds afterall has alway been a Virginia conservative on the other side until he let those libs hijack his campaign and run it into the ground-thank Kaine for that. If you spent any time around Richmond and the GA you would know BOTH men are respected very highly by both sides.
