Eric Cantor Says he Considers Delegate Chris Peace (R-VA97) a LIBERAL!

I just received an email from Eric Cantor where he defines anyone who advises a Democrat Governor as a Liberal.

My Delegate, Chris Peace, is helping Governor Elect Terry McAuliffe by serving on the transition team as Bob McDonnell completes his term.

Now there were a few members of the Conservative Community in the 97th District that were troubled by Delegate Peace lending a hand to ease the transition.  I consider Chris Peace a Statesman and a true Virginian for his willingness serve the people of the Commonwealth in any way he can. The true measure of a Statesman is his willingness to work for the benefit of his constituents no matter the philosophical divide. I take comfort in knowing Delegate Peace is watching what is going on with the transition. There is a time for partisanship and a time for joining together to ensure a smooth transition.

If you want to know Delegate Peace’s political leaning, check his voting record. As my representative I am proud to say Chris is one of a select few that enthusiastically get my vote. He has earned my trust and my respect. And he is no Liberal.

In defining Delegate Peace and others that have answered the call when a Democrat is wise enough to know they need help from smart people, Cantor specifically said this of Dr. David Brat, the Republican that is challenging Cantor in the primary this year:

Today a liberal economics professor announced he will challenge Congressman Cantor in the Republican primary. Professor David Brat has kicked off his campaign pretending to be a conservative, but don’t be fooled. Professor Brat once served as then Governor Tim Kaine’s hand-picked economic advisor and is no friend of conservatives. We don’t need a protégé of Senator Tim Kaine representing us in Washington.

Dr. Brat specializes in Macro Growth Economics, International Trade and Finance, and is a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics.

My money was on Eric Cantor coming out swinging at Brat for being a “TEA Party extremist” which several of the left wing extremist publications have done.

The left wing blog, FreakOutNation headline says “GOP Implosion: Tea Partier to challenge Eric Cantor, wants to be his ‘term limit’ ” saying Brat is a TEA Party Candidate.

That is likely news to the TEA Party groups in Virginia as Brat isn’t a regular, although he has probably been invited to speak on economics and ethics in politics, his fields of expertise. David Brat is one of those rare individuals that appeals to anyone that has actually read and believes the Republican Creed.

Brat said in a WWBT-12 interview:

“I teach economics to college students every day. The major issue, in dollar terms, that affect the average person is the debt,” Bratt said at a campaign stop in Church Hill Thursday. “The power figures in D.C. are busy catering to their Rolodexes instead of solving that debt problem.”

“I’m running to unite [the Republican Party]. I’m trying to build a broad coalition of people who follow the Republican creed. The basis is fiscal responsibility,” Brat said.

He is a free market think tank in a suit.

Perhaps if Eric Cantor had consulted with Dr. Brat over the 14 years he has been in Congress he would not have voted 14 times to increase the debt ceiling adding $12 Trillion of the $18 Trillion in debt we owe. And how far has Cantor moved the bar on Obamacare? Well, that would be zero. He has voted to fund it every time it came up for a vote and fools his Walking Dead voters back home in their Cantor Comas into thinking he is Conservative.

Eric Cantor is no conservative. He is a big government Progressive and the lack of positive results of the last 14 years speaks all you need to know about it.

And by the way, Cantor referred the other contender in the primary Peter Greenwald, a 28 year retired Marine Veteran and Commanding Officer as Peter Greenwald, a local high school teacher from Chesterfield County.

And while Greenwald is probably more proud of his work with kids and being able to teach young minds than he is of his heroic service, this was intended as a demeaning attack on a good man.

I know politics can get ugly, but Cantor’s email shows me more about what kind of man Eric Ivan Cantor really is than anything. And I find this pretty despicable.

And I think Cantor owes several apologies.
