EUROSCEPTIC TORY MP to RETIRE in 2015; REFUSES to JOIN UKIP! HIS RIDING was on the UKIP short list! MORE DEFECTIONS may COME if the UKIP wins as expected!

Breitbart is reporting that Tory MP Chris Kelly of the riding (district) Dudley South will retire as an MP at the General Election in 2015.  Kelly is a leading eurosceptic MP and one of the leaders of the Better Off Out (pro-EU referendum) organization.

Kelly, who is the Member for Parliament for Dudley South, said today:

“I would like to thank all those who have supported me since I was selected for Dudley South in September 2007. I would especially like to thank all those who voted for me at the general election in May 2010 and all of the friends and supporters who helped me for that election, as well as those who have supported my efforts since.

“I am proud to have served the good people of Dudley South for the past five years.”

However, Kelly will not join UKIP  but gave a strong, positive statement for Carswell:

“I won’t be joining UKIP, though I wish Douglas Carswell all the best. He has been a superb MP and it’s honourable to stand for re-election.”

It is more bad news for PM David Cameron as Dudley South was a leading target for UKIP in the next General Election.¬† Now the Tories will not have the incumbent and that should improve UKIP’s chances, provided they select a solid candidate, preferably in my opinion (I am alas not available since we did win that Revolutionary War thing a few years ago) a millennial or perhaps a bit older but similar to the millennials in thinking.

In other developments, the ConservativeHome email I get every AM (and you should too!¬† Here’s how!) is reporting that there are other Tory MPs that are thinking of a switch:

‚ÄėUkip sources said at least one other Tory MP has told its leader, Nigel Farage, that he is prepared to follow Douglas Carswell and defect, but only after December when it will not be necessary to hold a by-election. Another MP is said to be ‚Äúseriously considering‚ÄĚ a move to Ukip. The warning came as Carswell‚Äôs friend Zac Goldsmith, the MP for Richmond Park, revealed that he could switch parties if Ukip changes its stance on green issues.‚Äô

This is in the Sunday Times, a pay site.  But the Quote is from ConservativeHome Daily email.  I told you to get it!

Now Goldsmith had said a day or two ago (I read at ConservativeHome Daily email) no to switching.  But Carswell may not be alone:  The Daily Mail reported that up to 16 Tory MPs lunched with UKIP Treasurer Stewart Wheeler and may have met UKIP leader Nigel Farage.

The official Tory position is that all this electoral activity will just ensure a Labour victory and no referendum.  But I find and maybe so does many others that that seems like a hollow promise.  Watch for the Tweedledee-Tweedledum play and the new President of the European Council, the former Polish PM, Donald Tusk may try to make it according to this report I found at you guessed it CHD email(!) and quoted here:

‚ÄėDonald Tusk, the Polish prime minister, was appointed the new president of the European Council last night after he received British backing. He will replace Herman Van Rompuy, who announced his successor on Twitter. In a boost for David Cameron‚Äôs attempt to seek a new deal from Brussels, Tusk last night said the European Union would need solutions to Britain‚Äôs concerns, adding: ‚ÄúNo one sensible can envisage the ‚Äėblack scenario‚Äô of an EU without Britain.‚ÄĚ‚Äô

It is hardly a black scenario to imagine no more meddling courts mandating stupid “human rights” like prisoners voting and stupid regulations to enforce Agenda 21 like no more high energy vacuum cleaners and to imagine that Westminster makes its own decisions.¬† Apparently many voters in the UK agree.¬† UKIP is fighting for us here in the US and we all better root for them to win.
