Time for another sports rant! (If Rick Santilli can do it, so can I!) Real Clear Sports reports that the NCAA has no immediate plans to expand the Basketball tournament in the future from the present 68 teams.
The NCAA is more concerned about making sure its first 68-team basketball tournament goes off without a hitch than any further expansion.
I agree in principle with this; however I still contend that each conference should have BOTH its regular season and tournament winner in the NCAA. It is not fair for smaller conference schools to end up the last three of four games be the entire season for them. Each conference ought to have its BEST team in the NCAAs. If that means expansion to something like 96 teams, so be it.
