Gay and Lesbian Group GLSEN Again Attacks School Children in Recruitment Effort on Friday April 20, 2012

Note – The date on the first post was incorrect. The actual date is Friday April 20, 2012.

The Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network GLSEN is once again pushing their pro-homosexual agenda on schools all the way down to elementary kids with another “program” to protest ill treatment of Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Transgendered individuals with their “Day of Silence” which is one of many recruitment programs masquerading as innocuous ideas for “equality”.

If you will notice, they are not protesting against the forced compliance and acquiescence they demand of straight – i.e. Heterosexual people. No, they could care less about family values, Church teachings and parental rights and only concern themselves with forcing acceptance and recognition of their chosen sexual behavior.

Many of these children are far too young to even be subjected to the sexual bombardment this group pushes. And it is no secret that this is another step in their efforts to confuse and recruit (brainwash) young, impressionable minds into joining their behavior.

Ironically, this “Day of Silence” is a step in the right direction. Most would prefer that people simply remain silent about their sexual behavior – normal or deviant.

But this group is a danger to parental rights and family and they seek nothing less than the complete breakdown of the traditional family in favor of their idea of sexual gratification.

There are hundreds of groups that are advising parents to keep your children home on April 20, 2012 and avoid the school sponsored sexual pressure that this group pushes. This simply has no place in our public schools.

We are happy to report that the Hanover County, Virginia Public Schools are not participating in this GLSEN Sponsored event according to the Chairman of the Hanover School Board (where Virginia Right! is based).

You may not be so fortunate in your area.

CNSNEWS has a good article on the boycott:

( – A national pro-family coalition is calling on parents to keep their children home from school on April 18 to avoid the annual “Day of Silence,” when some students and faculty members remain mute to “protest the oppression of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth.”
“Teenagers deserve an opportunity to study English, history, math and science — without being subjected to pro-homosexual proselytizing sanctioned by school authorities,” said Linda Harvey, president and founder of the conservative group Mission America, in a news release.

“In many cases, at the U.S. taxpayer’s expense, the normal school day comes to a screeching halt in an effort to bring attention to the so-called ‘hatred, bigotry and name calling’ directed toward homosexual individuals,” she noted.

“Students shouldn’t be forced to self-censor or adopt beliefs contrary to those of their parents and places of worship,” Harvey added. “Even the strongest of our junior high and high school children are not equipped to serve as frontline soldiers in this culture war.”

Mission America is a member of the coalition, which describes itself on its website as “pro-family groups who object to the disruptive political hijacking of America’s classrooms by pro-homosexual advocates.”

The organization also “seeks to protect America’s youth from being pressured to approve of homosexual, bisexual or transgender behavior.”

In particular, the coalition “educates parents, teachers and America about the deceptive agenda” behind the annual “Day of Silence,” which is a project of the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN).

And Mission America has a sample letter you can send to your local School Board or Principal to express your concerns:

Sample letter for parents to send to your child’s school,if you decide to announce in advance that you will be removing your child on the Day of Silence.

This is quite tactfully worded. You may choose to give the school an even stronger message—that you think homosexuality should never have a voice in a responsible school setting, and can only foment dissent and confusion in the learning environment.

Dear (school official):

Due to the administration’s decision to allow the politicization of the learning environment through the Day of Silence, which is sponsored by the highly partisan Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, we feel compelled to call our child/children out of school on that day.

The administration errs when it allows the classroom to be disrupted and politicized by granting students permission to remain silent throughout an entire day. The protesters have a captive audience, many of whom disagree with and are made uncomfortable by the politicization of their classroom. How many political protests will the school allow, and who decides which political issue will be permitted to disrupt the educational process?

Day of Silence participants have a First Amendment right to wear t-shirts, put up posters, and set up tables on which they make available informative materials. The Day of Silence participants go further, however, by exploiting the instructional time of every student in every class for an entire day in the service of their philosophical beliefs and partisan political purposes. Their silence, and in some cases, the silence of their teachers, transform the activities of the day.

By allowing students to remain silent, administrations fail to protect the classroom from intrusive, political exploitation. My child/children will not be part of this political appropriation of the classroom.

Feel free to use this letter. Or better yet, pick up the phone and ask if this is something your school district is pushing. And if it is, let them know exactly why your child will be boycotting school on Friday.

Please understand that this is not about tolerance because these groups are totally intolerant of Christian and Family values. To them, tolerance is a one way street. You must do as they tell you or you are the enemy.

Be the enemy! There is nothing intolerant or bigoted about standing up to these bullies who are after your children.
