Glenn Sturtevant Betrays Republicans his First Week in Office, Backs McAuliffe

Newly elected Virginia State Senator Glenn Sturtevant has said he will not back the Republican nomination for the State Supreme Court, Virginia Court of Appeals Judge Rossie D. Alston Jr. Instead he will back the judge that Terry McAuliffe, taking a page from Barack Obama’s playbook, used a ridiculous “recess appointment” to place his pick, Justice Jane Marum Roush on the bench in the highest court in the state.

Republicans need to stick together and send Terry McAuliffe a resounding message. “No you cannot go around the legislature using Obama-like tricks and tactics.”

But Sturtevant is perfectly willing to reward McAuliffe’s bad behavior with a permanent appointment for the McAuliffe backed judge. This is about saying no to the tyrant McAuliffe.

When Virginia Right! looked at the competitive races in the state in last year’s election, an examination of Sturtevant’s record and positions convinced us that the Republican nominee was a RINO – a very liberal candidate. But there was a lot of money spent in this race. $5 million dollars was spent between the two candidates according to VPAP.

So it turns out that McAuliffe was the biggest winner in the Sturtevant-Gecker contest. And besides Virginian’s who will be subjected to the whims of a judicial appointment backed by extremist McAuliffe, who were the biggest losers who poured millions into the campaign for this RINO?

Here are the top suckers donors to Sturtevant’s campaign:

$481,957 Republican State Leadership Committee
$311,250 Norment for Senate – Thomas
$250,972 Republican Party of Virginia
$193,909 Virginia Senate Republican Caucus
$183,125 McDougle for Senate – Ryan
$105,000 Middle Resolution PAC

These are people we have to thank for giving the Democrats a win in this Senate Seat.

Let’s hope we can find a Republican challenger in the next 4 years to take this traitor out of office.

What a great way to start. Smh

I just knew he was a squish. I had a hinkey about him….sigh

  3. Appears lacking sound principles to guide decisions as with so many RINOs. I wonder how many Rs would achieve “biblical worldview” or secular view on the PEERS test(Politics, Economics, Education, Religion, Social)designed and administered by this will help

I am disappointed with the Senator\’s decision as much as anybody. However, considering our options in the Senate race, Sturtevant will prove to be a much better option than any of the other candidates, especially Gecker.

Glen was the best candidate to win the district. If he had lost, we would have Gecker as a Senator and the Republicans would have lost chairmanships. As much as we don\’t like what Glen did, losing control of the senate would have been a been complete disaster for VA.

The good news is that Sturtevant will never get to vote for Raush. Unfortunately for him, his decision will likely have repercussions beyond the cheap shots he and his supporters are receiving today.

  5. Question: which district is he in and which counties does his district cover?

The Tenth- Powatan and Part of Chesterfield. RINO John Watkins\’ old district-

Clearly the GOP leadership is once again asleep at the wheel. Even Rob Bell – AG Candidate- was duped. Bell appeared at the Hanover County GOP meeting days before the election begging Hanover Republicans to work for Sturtevant to HOLD THE SENATE due to the \”Constitutional Crisis\” created by Governor McAuliffe\’s illegal appointment.

Clearly Sturtevant didn\’t get the \”MEMO\”
More importantly- Middle Resolution sold the Republican Voters a bag of CRAP in their endorsement Sturtevant. He\’s a Liberal. But he\’ll vote for Bob Bailie\’s Con Con and School Choice and other CRAP agendas. Just watch.
