The Guardian (UK), not to be confused with my college newspaper at Wright State, the Daily Guardian, is doing a live blog int he days leading up to the historic vote on Scottish Independence.
My personal endorsement (not the blog’s) is YES SCOTLAND. You already are a nation. You have a rich history.
The scene from Chariots of Fire where young Eric Liddell said something like, “I’ll always be, whilst I breathe, a Scot.” Liddell didn’t say he was British or a UK citizen. He said he was as long as he lived an breathed, a Scot.
So be a nation and assume your rightful place among the nations of the world. Ignore the bribes and scaremongering. Take the opportunity the South was denied: Vote YES on independence September 18.
