Hanover (VA) Democratic Committee Joins the Culture of Deception

When Democrats lie, they tend to be whoppers. The headlines are overflowing with Democrats doing despicable things and trying to blame Republicans.

No, Democrats. We all know you were not “hacked”. You are simply being dishonest… again!

It is the ‘Culture of Deception’ and is the new reality for the Hanover, Virginia Democratic Committee. While Republicans are working on solving the problems facing America, the Democrats are content to sit on the sidelines throwing manure at Republican plans hoping that will be enough of a reason to trick you into voting for a Democrat. They drudge out their usual ‘class warfare’ attacks in what has become normal Democratic Party platform.

How serious is our financial crisis? Consider this from CNN: by 2020 Washington could be spending 92 cents of every tax dollar on Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and interest alone. That would leave just 8 cents to pay for everything else.

If you think we have the option to kick fixing Social Security and Medicare down the road, you are about to be hit with a large dose of reality. I can see the end of the road from my house. We all can.
Republicans like Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor are taking a big risk dealing with this problem like grown-ups. Democrats, on the other hand, are not interested in the plight of the country, only in regaining power. All else is irrelevant.

The Hanover Democratic Committee believes the Voters of Hanover County are stupid. Really stupid! And they are now doubling down on their party’s failure to lead. But it’s good to see they finally have a plan!

It has been 774 days since the Democrats in the US Senate have passed a budget! I suppose this is an example of President Obama’s Leading from Behind philosophy. As Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi also failed to produce a budget. Pelosi has been replaced by the new Republican Leadership. And guess what? They have already passed a budget in the House. Something the Democrats were unable to do when they controlled the House, the Senate and the White House.

But Obama did put out a budget for his Democrats to consider. It failed in the Senate 0-97. NOT ONE SINGLE VOTE FOR THE OBAMA BUDGET! (The Ryan Budget plan passed in the House received 40 votes in the Senate, by comparison.)

The Democrats have shown no leadership, no ideas and no clue on fixing America.

But I did say the have a plan, right?

And here is their brilliant idea: To lie and distort anything the Republicans propose.

Some plan, huh? While America is slipping into at best a double dip recession, or at worse, a Great Depression, Democrats plan is to retain power by scaring old people and not fixing the country.

Impressive, right?

So, in keeping with the Do Nothing Democratic Plan, the Hanover Democratic Committee has adopted the National Democratic Strategy. Offer nothing, criticize everything. They double down on stupid!

What an insult to the good citizens of Hanover County.

Let’s look at why the Hanover Democratic Committee is saying you should Vote for a Democrat on their website and focus on the important things they leave out:

1.     Democrats will preserve your Medicare.

Republicans, led by Hanover’s representative Eric Cantor, want to end Medicare. In its place they propose a “voucher system”. This means you will get a small contribution to use as you search on your own for coverage from private insurance companies. You pay the rest… on average it will cost senior citizens at least $6,000 a year. Many retirees will not have the money and many will not qualify to buy health care insurance at any price. This inhumane proposal will literally be a death sentence for many American seniors.

What does the Democrats promise to “preserve” Medicare really mean? It means they plan to do nothing. Everything will stay just as it is. So, for Seniors, that is good, right? Well, if you like your Medicare plan now, I suppose it could be a good thing. But what the Democrats are not telling you is that Medicare can only be preserved for 13 years. According to the Medicare Trustees Report in 2024 Medicare will be totally bankrupt. Gone. History. There will be no Medicare for anyone. To use the Democrats own words This inhumane proposal (by Democrats) will literally be a death sentence for many American seniors.

Here’s something else that the Hanover Democrats are not telling you: Under the Ryan Plan, if you are on Medicare now, or will qualify for Medicare in the next 10 years, absolutely nothing will change for you. And the good news is the plan will not go bankrupt in 13 years. Let me say this again: If you are currently on Medicare, you have nothing to worry about, your plan is now safe! In fact, if you are 55 or older, nothing changes. So the Ryan plan only effects people who are 54 years old or younger.

But what about costing Seniors $6,000 more a year? That will be really bad for elderly people who can’t afford this extra expense, right?

Absolutely! That would be a horrible thing to ask of our low income Seniors. If it were true. As usual, the Democrats are quoting numbers that are false. The Congressional Budget Office did make that claim, to be sure. But they failed to figure in the additional $7,800 that the Ryan plan will give to low income seniors. And the CBO admitted the mistake. Check out this report on the error.

And who won’t qualify? Well, that answer is simple. The “rich” people who don’t need the help will be required to pay for their own coverage. Ironically, the Hanover Democrats want you to feel sorry for the rich folks who won’t qualify for the Ryan Plan here, in point #1, yet they want you to hate the same rich people and want to punish them in their point #4 with higher taxes. Just how stupid do they think you are? Hanover Dems should be ashamed for these untruths!

Their next “reason to vote for a Democrat:

2.     Democrats put the interests of average Americans over the interests of big business.

Republicans favor big business at the expense of hard working middle class Americans, like you and I. Here’s an example: Democrats voted to eliminate tax breaks for big oil companies. Republicans, led by Hanover’s representative Eric Cantor, voted to keep paying the oil industry $20 billion in tax subsidies over the next 10 years. The Republicans say this is to encourage oil companies to drill. The oil industry and its executives made the largest profits in the history of the world this year. Their executives paid taxes at lower rates than you and I. According to the IRS, some oil companies used offshore tax havens to pay no US income taxes at all. What more incentive do they need? (

Let’s examine this statement and look at a few facts. Yes, it is true. Republicans try to support the Oil Companies and encourage them to drill for American oil. Despite the Hanover Democrats hatred of all businesses, and oil is no exception, Republicans understand that the more oil we produce in America the less we must buy from other countries, many of which hate America and use our money to fund terror. $20 billion over 10 years amounts to $2 Billion a year in incentives to use American workers and produce American oil. Did the Hanover Democrats mention that Obama recently visited Brazil and promised to help them out this year with $2 Billion dollars to help subsidize Brazilian underwater oil drilling and jobs for Brazil? Naw, they didn’t mention that. Obama promised Brazil more assistance to come. Meanwhile, American oil producers are unemployed because Obama shut down drilling here. It is hard to believe anything the Hanover Democrats say when they support money going to oil production out of the country and want to end incentives in America where they produce Domestic jobs. And it should not come as a big surprise that corporations are moving out of the US with business hating politicians like the Hanover Democrats out to destroy them with over regulation and taxes. Many oil companies have pulled up their drilling operations and headed to more business friendly waters.

On to Hanover Democrat’s third deception:

3.     Democrats promise to defend your Social Security

Republicans, led by Hanover’s representative Eric Cantor, want to “privatize” Social Security. Privatizing Social Security is the same thing as eliminating Social Security. Instead of paying into the Social Security system and receiving a monthly pension when you retire, you will instead invest in the Wall Street casino known as the stock market. It means your financial security will depend on the whims of the stock market. When the stock market crashes again as it did in 2008, your financial future will crash right along with it.

Again, like with Medicare, the Hanover Democrats fail to mention that Social Security is now paying out more money than it takes in with no change to that deficit anytime soon. In other words, Social Security is for all intents and purposes bankrupt. Democrats have the same plan here as they do for Medicare. Scare old people and do nothing until the checks can no longer be printed. If we do nothing, as the Hanover Democrats propose, elderly people on Social Security today can expect their checks to be totally cut off, should they make it to their 80’s. People not yet retired likely will never see a dime. When Social Security started, money was taken from 17 workers to pay one retiree. Today, your monthly check comes out of only 3 workers. In a few years, that falls to 2 workers for every retiree. Younger workers will see more of their paychecks going to support a retired person than their own kids. We simply do not have the option of a “do nothing” Democratic Plan.

The Democrat’s 4th point:

4.     Democrats want to end the Bush era tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires

Republicans, led by Hanover’s representative Eric Cantor, want to make Bush-era tax breaks permanent for millionaires and billionaires. This tax give-away to powerful special interests is the main reason the US government has a budget deficit. Every millionaire’s taxes are reduced by at least $139,000 every year and much more if you are a billionaire. Democrats want to end these tax breaks but keep tax cuts in place for Americans whose annual income is $250,000 or less. That’s you and I, and 98% of Americans. Before the Bush tax cuts of a decade ago, the Federal Government had a surplus. Contrary to what you might hear, the US has a revenue problem, not a spending problem.

First off, it is obvious that the number crunchers at the Hanover Democratic Committee did not attend Hanover Schools, some of the best schools in the country. They are obviously transplants. If they did attend school in Hanover they would know that someone making $250,000 a year is neither a millionaire nor a billionaire. Most of these wealthy people are actually small business owners who provide jobs for most Americans. As the Democrat’s said: That’s you and I, and 98% of Americans. (Note – if they attended Hanover schools they would have written “you and me“.)

Democrats seem to understand that if you want more of something, you lower the taxes. If you want less of something, tax it. Want people to drive less? Increase the tax on gasoline – which the Democrats favor. Want more people to buy homes? Give them a tax credit. So why is it that you can’t seem to understand that if you raise taxes on the job producers we will have fewer jobs? Perhaps it is because you didn’t go to school in Hanover.

But let’s look at those “Bush Tax Cuts” you so despise. They didn’t just cut taxes on the wealthy, they cut taxes across the board. Somehow, the Hanover Democrats are convinced that the country is in debt because 2% of Americans got a tax cut. We have already established that you did not go to Hanover Schools, but don’t you think cutting taxes for the other 98% of Americans had a significant impact on government revenue? You act as if our financial problems all come from that 2% you hate so much. Look in the mirror, my mathematically challenged Hanover Democratic Committee friends. Let’s see you pony up half of the $1000 Child Care credit (Bush took it up from $500). Or the ‘marriage penalty’ that Bush eliminated. Or the tax brackets that will jump for the working poor. Or the capital gains tax that went to 0% for lower income earners.

When you say “Democrats want to end these tax breaks but keep tax cuts in place for Americans whose annual income is $250,000 or less” that is a lot like ordering a Big Mac, Super-Sized Fries and a McFlurry with M&M’s and then asking for a diet coke because you are watching your weight. It might make you feel better about yourself, but it won’t help.

That wealthiest 2% you want to hit up for more include George Soros, your uber liberal ATM machine. But guess what? Soros has enough money to avoid most US taxes. His money is mostly offshore beyond the greedy grab of Democrats. Along with the money are the jobs this money would be financing, if it were in US investments. Which is the same thing the rest of the 2% will do if you raise their taxes. The money and jobs will move overseas.

So, at the end of the day, if you want to see Medicare and Social Security go bankrupt, gasoline prices hit $10 a gallon, and the few remaining jobs we have moved overseas, by all means vote for a Democrat.

On the other hand, if you want to see America get back to work, move towards energy independence and lower gas prices and the lingering recession (with depression rising) end and see America finally return to prosperity, then you are going to need to vote for a Republican.

Look, none of us are so deluded that we believe simply electing Republicans will solve everything. Nor do we believe that Republican elected officials are perfect. Some are far from it. We have seen the promise of hope that Democrats promised turn to false hope and the only change we have seen is the Democrats pushing the country down the same road to destruction we were already on – only at a much faster speed.

There may very well be room for improvement in the plans Republicans have offered. We really need the Democrats to either work with Republicans and come up with a final plan that protects Social Security and Medicare and, the part Democrats always forget, keep them solvent for good, come up with your own plan that will accomplish the goal, or sit down and shut up.

Rubbish like this “Vote for a Democrat” prattle from Democrats and especially the Hanover Democratic Committee are doing far more harm than good. You Democrats need to pull your heads out of wherever is is you have been keeping them and become a part of the solution, or simply get out of the way.

No, we don’t have a revenue problem. We have a Hanover Democrat problem.

I think that about sums it up! Eliminate the Bush Tax Cuts for the wealthy and all our liberal dreams will come true. What a bunch of morons.

You know, Buddy. I am counting on Medicare and Social Security for my retirement in the not too distant future. We all are.

Do Democrats think Republicans want to throw their own parents, grandparents (or ourselves) off of these programs? We all have a vested interest in keeping these things afloat for those we love.

That just does not make sense. How can anyone think Republicans want to harm themselves or their loved ones.
