Virginia GOP Chairman Jeff Frederick was removed as chairman on Saturday, April 4th by a vote of 57-18.
Many say the merit of the charges against Mr. Frederick were questionable. While that may well be true, it is regrettable that the Virginia GOP had to endure this problem at this time.
Among the missteps reported against Mr. Frederick, one of the most public errors was his advance announcement on Twitter that one of the Senators in the Virginia Senate may switch sides. This would have given Republicans greater power in the senate. Thanks to the advance warning, Democrats were able to thwart the coup.
Mr. Frederick is considering the possibility of a floor fight during the Virginia Republican Convention on May 30 to regain his Chairmanship. We hope for the good of the party he is able abide by the vote cast on April 4.
