Cong. Ron Paul will address NICHE, the Iowa homeschoolers association, Wednesday along with fellow Cong. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and announced Presidential candidate, former Godfather’s CEO Herman Cain.
Nowhere does the fight against big government and world government converge as closely as homeschooling. It is effectively banned in Germany, using Nazi-era laws upheld by that court that lets prisoners vote: The ECHR. Even in the UK, the so-called Tory government refuses to consider allowing “religious fundamentalists” the right to teach creationism. Here’s the article in the Guardian (thanks to ConservativeHome):
The Department for Education has said Michael Gove is “crystal clear that teachingcreationism is at odds with scientific fact” after a warning that the government’s new free schools could be exploited by fundamentalist churches looking to promote a literal interpretation of the Bible. * * * The BCSE [British Centre for Science Education], which describes itself as the leading anti-creationist organisation in Europe, wrote to Gove to express its “extreme concern” at applications from groups such as the Everyday Champions Church and the Christian Schools Trust to run free schools.
As long as the schools teach both sides, the government should stay out. This is not a conservative government.
Thank Jesus, in the USA, it is still a constitutional right to homeschool your kids! Ron Paul has been a consistent supporter of homeschooling, and calls for a $3,000 tax credit for homeschooling expenses:
“In order to help home schoolers, and all parents, devote more of their resources to their children’s education, I have introduced the Family Education Freedom Act (H.R. 935). This bill provides all parents a $3,000 per child tax credit for K-12 education expenses. This bill would help home school parents to provide their children a first-class education in a loving home environment.”
I have noticed that young people are flocking to the Paul campaign banner but they also need to consider their local tea party group. Yes it is a sacrifice of some time away from family, but it’s worth it to be involved. Homeschoolers will fight for their kids! Here’s the FB page for the Mechanicsville Tea Party; here’s the Virginia Tea Party Federation, and here’s a national tea party group. Join up – support Ron Paul, Campaign for Liberty and your local tea party group today!
