I WANT to FOLLOW the UK ELECTION but can’t TREAT SANDY to DINNER TOMORROW NIGHT – WHAT DO I DO?

How do I keep up with the UK General Election, coming up tomorrow?  Where do I go?  Leave it here for your best way to find out stuff!  But other sites are:

First, a nice prediction site is Iain Dale’s site that collects data and makes a final prediction on EVERY seat in the UK (Dale must have Asperger’s or something like I do!)  It takes work to do this and he does it pretty well.  Go there tonight.  He has the Tories with a slight lead but not a majority of seats, UKIP getting 5 seats and the Scots Nats winning nearly every seat in the land – 54 seats out of 59.  Labour might be able to form a better majority than the Conservatives.

The best site for a live blog and where I will probably be (Lord and bandwidth willing!) back and forth is the UK Guardian election site.  Here is this site.

Sky News might have live election coverage that I can listen to over the computer (GROAN says the laptop already!) and I may do so.  Here is Sky News site.

The BBC will have coverage, too.  Go here for the BBC if you can stand it.

I will try to live blog the election here at Virginia Right.  Might have some special items such as Virginia names for MP districts:  Did you know there is a Midlothian?  (In Scotland)  Dumfries?  (Ditto)  Chesterfield?  (In Derbyshire in England)  Bristol?  (In Bristol of course!)  Chippenham?  (In Wiltshire) And of course Richmond in York.  And Stafford, Chichester, Halifax, Norfolk, Northumberland, Kilmarnock, Gloucester, Hull (as in Hull Street in Manchester and yes there is a [Greater] Manchester, too!), Portsmouth, Chatham and Aylesford, Rutherglen, Isle of Wight, and finally last but certainly not least Winchester!

So come here for your election night coverage.  I got an email (through Tom White) from a fellow (I do not have permission yet to give his name or know if he’s from England or not) who says he is confident UKIP will win at least 40 seats!  If they do, they’ll be so many repeated victory laps there is liable to be a tornado or earthquake in Virginia!

Nothing is more conservative than a republican wanting to get their majority back. And nothing is more liberal than a republican WITH a majority.
