The three part series on the SOLs by my fellow blogger Tom White has been read by many Virginians. People are outraged! Here’s what to do:
The SOLs are made up by the State Board of Education (SBOE). They can rewrite them. The Board of Education website does not have an easy way to contact the members of the board. I would contact your local delegate and senator and ask for SOL review. You may also try to contact a senior staff person at the State Department of Education. Go here for the list!
The SBOE is appointed by Governor McDonnell. Here’s where to tell the Governor how you feel – urge him to appoint staunch conservatives to the SBOE! (I am encouraged by several of the Governor’s initial choices. Ask Governor McDonnell to stay the course.
Of course ALWAYS be respectful and humble but firm in your position. We need the reforms adopted in Texas here in the Commonwealth!
