Top Ron Paul Sites - Ranking the best Ron Paul related Freedom and Liberty

I’ve been pondering this posting for some time.  How long could the USA have gone without a war?  If we had followed the Constitution, renounced imperialism, minded our own business, what wars would we have been in?  How might history have changed?

Try this mental exercise:

I think the War of 1812 was probably necessary – to show the European powers that we deserve respect.

I also think the Mexican War was probably necessary as well – to have a nation that stretched from the Atlantic to the Pacific.  And thanks to the Virginian Ambassador Trist’s disobedience, Mexico’s independence was preserved.  That gets us to about 1846 or so.

The so-called Civil War – if Lincoln had obeyed the Constitution and either allowed the seceding states to leave the Union or negotiated their remaining in the Union – no war nor the expansion of the central government or suspension of liberty!

The Spanish-American war – pure imperialism and unnecessary!

The First World War – if we had stayed out of this war – unnecessary and none of our business than we would not have been involved in in the Versailles Treaty – Germany might not have been humiliated and the Second World War would not have occurred.  At least the possibility might have occurred that Russia would not have fallen to the communists!

That might not have led to the Second World War or the Cold War – neither the Nazis nor the Communists would have been our enemies – because they would never have come to power!

That means no Korea nor Vietnam nor any other Cold War war!

We would have been up to the 1991 First Gulf War.  It may well have been necessary to help liberate Kuwait in 1991.  Maybe that would not have happened at all.

That would have been nearly 150 years of peace for the American people.  Millions would have lived.  Families would not have been disrupted.  And if anyone dared attack the USA, we would have had a army to repel that invasion!  Maybe we would still be a constitutional republic instead of debating if we can kill US citizens with drones or intervention in Syria or Mali.  Billions would have been saved in war efforts.  Maybe we would have led the world in peace and fair trade.

Now, come back to Earth and lets work for that constitutional republic!

Thank you for reminding me why I vote Libertarian. The Republican and Democrat neocons are a pox upon humanity that have destroyed liberty and prosperity. Unfortunately, both the DNC and RNC are nothing more than wholly owned subsidiaries of the military industrial security complex and the banksters.

Who got us into WW I, WW II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Balkans Wars? All progressive liberal Democrats – Wilson, FDR, Truman, LBJ and Clinton.

The Republican Party has morphed into the War Party that advocates for endless wars, statism, crony capitalism, fascism and Police State USA.

    • Thanks for reading Judy, I ought to be in the Libertarian or the Constitution Parties. I thus admire you for your courage there. I sadly agree with much you say. Thanks for coming by. Invite your friends and other LP members to come by too.

I’ve never voted for a Democrat in my entire life but I’ve never met an establishment Republican who wasn’t a commie, a statist, a warmonger, a fascist, a crony capitalist and an advocate for destroying civil liberties. Anyway, I blog for liberty at:

The Republican Party will either change or die and I’m doing my part to guarantee that this loser party continues to lose election.

        • Judy, could you read my “New Free Soil Party” post and comment on whether I should be a Libertarian? I value your opinion on the issue.

As an independent voter,I really don’t endorse or support any political party and I typically vote the candidate.

The 2 party system in America is an absolute nightmare. The RNC and DNC machines are nothing more than money laundering machines as well as wholly owned subsidiaries of the banksters, military industrial complex, corporatists and assorted special interests.

The corrupt 2 party system will remain so long as they have a lock and monopoly on the political money.

Nothing is more conservative than a republican wanting to get their majority back. And nothing is more liberal than a republican WITH a majority.
