Is Climate-gate Number Fudger Phil Jones Working For Obama?

Obama is in full fledged denial.

“We feel very optimistic that the worst is behind us,” the president said Tuesday.

A visit to the Connecticut Department of Labor web site tells a different story:

Update on December 21, 2009: Due to the high volume of claim filing, you may experience some difficulty filing your claim via the Web or by telephone. We apologize for any inconvenience.

From the Local NBC affiliate in Connecticut:

A spokeswoman says the Department of Labor issued 156,673 benefit checks during the week of Dec. 13-19, up nearly 50 percent from 105,431 last year.

The agency has been “incredibly busy” with claims and was “flooded with calls,” she said.

The system overload comes just a couple days after the state announces that the unemployment rate dropped from 8.8 percent in October to 8.2 percent.

Pretty much the story all around.

And keep in mind, this is traditionally the season Businesses hire more Christmas help.

January and February should be a lot of fun, for the spinners in D.C.

Still it makes one wonder, did Climate-gate head number fudger Phil Jones take a job calculating unemployment for OBama?

  1. Unemployed CT Resident says:

This problem with CT DOL persists even today, and it would be funny if I wasn’t one of the 8.2% trying to file a claim. The system appears designed to maximize taxpayer grief:
    – You can file an initial claim online, but if you omit information you need to call the CT DOL to modify it: If you can’t reach them within 7 days, you must start over.
    – I called the main number and asked if I could modify my claim in person at a local branch, to which the employee replied “Why? They won’t be able to help you.”
    – For the automated TeleBenefits line: IF you don’t get a busy signal (or a “line disconnected” signal!) and IF you listen to 3 minutes of announcements, and IF you enter the required information from four menus, then you are told to wait…at which time the control voice tells you to call back later…and politely hangs up.

I wonder if CT DOL is hiring 😉

Nothing is more conservative than a republican wanting to get their majority back. And nothing is more liberal than a republican WITH a majority.
