I really don’t know why I have seen a sudden uptick in the number of good emails that are going to my Google Mail spam box. I send most of my emails through Gmail because the amount of spam I get is incredible and the Gmail filters were the best I had found.
I might have seen about 1% false positives in the last few years that I have been using Gmail. But the number has skyrocketed and I am now seeing 20% or so false positives and oddly, almost all of the incorrectly identified email is from Republican and Conservative sources.
I admit I receive a large number of right leaning emails, but I am on almost as many Democrat lists that help me keep up with the “other side”. They NEVER go to my spam box.
Perhaps it’s a quirk. Or maybe it’s a case where there is some type of coordinated effort on the left to sign up for right leaning emails and then report them as spam to get then erroneously sent to spam and ignored.
Then there is the possibility that Google, which is hardly Conservative friendly, has tweaked their spam filters a bit.
Whatever the reason, I have been spending a lot of time lately adding a “Do not send to spam” filter to messages in my spam queue.
Anyone else noticing this?
Just make sure you check your spam box often. I now have to.
