IS ICLEI about to be OUT in ROANOKE COUNTY? I HOPE SO, Mr. CASEY, because it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL for ANY US city or county to JOIN a FOREIGN CONFEDERATION that CONDUCTS FOREIGN POLICY!

This is potentially great news:  The friend of ICLEI at the Roanoke Times, blogger Dan Casey is reporting good news:

Allow me to bring you up to speed on the longest-running soap opera in Roanoke County government, “As the ICLEI Turns.”

That’s necessary because at least three years after the Roanoke Tea Party began spouting ridiculous conspiracy theories and other nonsense about the International Council of Local Environmental Initiatives, the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors is on the cusp of dropping its $1,200-per-year membership in the group.

As part of the budget process, the county’s five supervisors are now marking up a “yea or nay” list of memberships in various and sundry organizations. This is the first time membership in ICLEI has been a line item.

Those budget study papers are due Tuesday. The only supervisor favoring continued membership in ICLEI is Charlotte Moore, an independent who represents the Cave Spring District. Thus it appears the issue will go down on a 4-1 vote that’s mostly out of the public eye.

There are no ridiculous conspiracy theories about ICLEI, Mr. Casey:  ICLEI is a federation of US and foreign cities and municipal governments that conducts foreign policy on the world stage for the increasingly discredited “climate change” that is so important to ICLEI and its ilk that we must give up our national sovereignty to fight it.   Millions of Americans are saying NEVER!  They also have political goals.  People in Roanoke County can be forgiven if they choose not to adopt by proxy those policies.  I say to all who want to know more – click the ICLEI button here at Virginia Right and read for a while.  It’s bad stuff.  I can’t wait until next Tuesday.  Let every patriot go to the meeting and politely and quietly say NO to the unconstitutional ICLEI.

    Good news indeed.
I sometimes wonder, “how have we gotten so far away from our Constitution?”
But the bigger question is: How do we get back?
