The Zogby poll just came out in the last hour or so and it has some good news for Libertarian Robert Sarvis: He draws 9 percent in a three person race with an astounding 18.3% undecided.
When the “undecided” voters were removed from the survey, Zogby found that McAuliffe, a former Democratic national chairman, led Cuccinelli by 43 percent to 37 percent and Sarvis drew 11 percent, while 8 percent selected another candidate.
“Republicans do have cause to be worried, and yes, Sarvis is hurting Cuccinelli more than McAuliffe,” Zogby told Newsmax shortly after the release of his survey. “What is especially important is that, among voters who are aged 18 to 29, Sarvis draws 24 percent — one in four voters.”
Zogby said Sarvis has “energized many young people and, if the Libertarian theme resonates here, it could easily become a national theme. And this would make Virginia a major swing state in 2016 and beyond.”
The CPP tracking poll shows there has been very little voter movement in the overall race with the exception of Robert Sarvis gaining four percentage points and becoming more of a key factor in the race. Sarvis is taking twice as many votes away from Cuccinelli than McAuliffe.

Sarvis is demonstrating the ability to connect across the board with Independents, Democrats and Republicans. Sixty-four (64%) of Sarvis supporters are Independents, 22% are Democrats and 14% are Republicans. Sarvis has gained 5 points among Independent voters since the September CPP poll.
I wonder if that breakout poll is coming up – too late for the major party hopefuls to respond! Can Sarvis win? Yes he can. Go here for some ideas…
