Is the Transgendered Virginia Health Department Head Fit to Serve in Such a Capacity?

MarkLevin

LGBT.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered.

Every time I see the initials LGBT or the phrase “for which it stands” I am reminded of the Sesame Street song “One of these things is not like the other”.

Lesbians, Gays and Bisexuals have one thing in common – sex with a partner (or partners) of the same sex.

As a Christian I have my beliefs on the subject and I am not going to preach you will be happy to know.

Even more shocking, I don’t care what you do with another consenting adult. As far as I am concerned, it is a personal preference, like Coke or Pepsi. Albeit a lot more controversial to some.

My feeling is that my religious beliefs are my own, not yours. And I have no right to impose my beliefs on anyone else. So I neither condemn nor condone same sex relationships. I don’t think there is anything in one’s choice of a sexual partner that impacts any other aspect of that person or their ability to hold any job or office.

But the one that does not belong in this group – the Transgendered – is another story altogether. LGB’s have sex with a same sex partner. Transgendered people demand that their genitals be mutilated and despite their decidedly male or female chromosomes, they don’t want to have sex with someone of the same sex, they want to BE someone of the other sex.

LGB is a choice.

Transgenderism is a severe mental illness. (If you want Political Correctness you came to the wrong place.) Due to political pressure and political correctness, people wanting to become another sex were “reclassified” under the Obama Administration and officially this is no longer considered a mental illness. But it was political pressure and not medical science behind this reclassification.

According to CNS News:

Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, said that transgenderism is a “mental disorder” that merits treatment, that sex change is “biologically impossible,” and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with and promoting a mental disorder.

Dr. McHugh, the author of six books and at least 125 peer-reviewed medical articles, made his remarks in a recent commentary in the Wall Street Journal, where he explained that transgender surgery is not the solution for people who suffer a “disorder of ‘assumption’” – the notion that their maleness or femaleness is different than what nature assigned to them biologically.

He also reported on a new study showing that the suicide rate among transgendered people who had reassignment surgery is 20 times higher than the suicide rate among non-transgender people. Dr. McHugh further noted studies from Vanderbilt University and London’s Portman Clinic of children who had expressed transgender feelings but for whom, over time, 70%-80% “spontaneously lost those feelings.”

While the Obama administration, Hollywood, and major media such as Time magazine promote transgenderism as normal, said Dr. McHugh, these “policy makers and the media are doing no favors either to the public or the transgendered by treating their confusions as a right in need of defending rather than as a mental disorder that deserves understanding, treatment and prevention.”

So the Virginia Department of Health has a man, Mark Levine, who is now a woman, Marissa Levine, making our state health decisions.

I’m sorry, but anyone suffering from a mental issue as serious as this has no business making decisions for Virginians.

This story is starting to draw a lot of attention. Linda Harvey of BarbWire.com wrote:

It seems that the health commissioner of the state of Virginia is a guy now preferring to be known as a female. Dr. Marissa Levine was in a former life, Dr. Mark Levine. And because I prefer to deal with reality, that’s what we will call him here.

Virginia Mass Resistance head Linda Wall is one of the few folks talking about this stunning development. Mark Levine was appointed interim health commissioner last February by Governor Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat. It’s too bad Levine now seems to be a permanent fixture in this slot, because already he is operating like a committed liberal and trying to undo regulations on abortion clinics so those that haven’t complied won’t close.

In fact, Levine is turning out to be the water-carrier for the extreme pro-abortion policies of Terry McAuliffe. Pro-life supporters in Virginia are livid.

While Dr. Levine does on paper have an extensive background in public health, this recent decision he’s made to pretend to be a woman overshadows everything else in his life. He was a male in the public eye as recently  as 2006, when quoted in the Washington Post as a family practitioner who treated “transgender” people. His own personal struggle was not revealed in this typically biased WaPo article.

“Physician, heal thyself” has never been more applicable.

It’s not my intention to pick on Levine personally. His identity crisis should prompt our sincere compassion. However, he’s not just Joe Transvestite on the street but holds an influential position, and his own prejudices and personal self-deception could potentially impact millions of people.

And I recommend you read the entire article by Ms. Harvey.

And I agree that this is not intended to be personal. If Mark Levine were a low level state employee or worked in private industry somewhere I wouldn’t care. But the decisions and the agenda that this ill person is advancing is dangerous to Virginia.
But then, so is Terry McAuliffe.
