Government Funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting costs taxpayers about $300 M currently is is slated to go to $445 M by 2015.
The cost to feed a 10 year old child is just under $2,000 per year according to the Baby Center.
In 2015, the Taxpayer money used to produce shows such as Sesame Street could feed 225,000 hungry American children.
Or….
The average High School teacher makes about $55,000 now and will likely make about $60,000 by 2015.
If we cook Big Bird’s goose by 2015 and get rid of the public subsidy for the CPB by 2015, we could pay 7,416 teacher each year with the savings.
Taxpayer funding only accounts for 12% of the entire PBS budget. America has far too many people unemployed and we can’t afford to continue funding this frivolous stuff when we have far greater needs for the money.
The economy will not improve if Barack Obama is re-elected. It will get worse.
