Deeply embedded in the always lengthy drafts of UN documents is this language on page 16 are these words:

Requests the Conference of the Parties to develop, by its eighteenth session, an International Climate Court of Justice in order to guarantee the compliance of Annex I Parties with all the provisions of this decision, which are essential elements in the obtaining of the global goal;

So the nations of the world are trying to come up with yet another criminal court to try national leaders for not going along with their goals.  Now US leaders may have something else to worry about. Alas, the US did ratify the Convention on Climate Change in 1994.  Here is the text.

What are their goals?  The same ones that ICLEI advocate:

Human rights
69.  Climate change related actions should fully respect human rights;
70.  The adverse effects of climate change have a range of direct and indirect implications for the effective enjoyment of human rights; climate change related actions
can have implications on human rights and the effects of climate change will be felt most acutely by those segments of the population that are already vulnerable owing to
geography, gender, age, indigenous or minority status, or disability;
71.  Indigenous people – ensuring the full respect of human rights, including the inherent rights of indigenous people (A broad range of stakeholders – engagement, including of indigenous people, is necessary for effective action on all aspects of climate change;
72.  Migrants – ensuring the full respect of human rights, including the inherent rights of migrants;
73.  The full respect of human rights, including the inherent rights of women, children, migrants and indigenous peoples established in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples;

Compare this with ICLEI’s Charter (emphasis added):

7)  Adopt patterns of production, consumption, and reproduction that safeguard Earth’s regenerative capacities, human rights, and community well-being.  This means ABORTION!
(9) Eradicate poverty as an ethical, social, and environmental imperative.
This means statist and socialistic solutions to poverty not free-market ones

(10) Ensure that economic activities and institutions at all levels promote human development in an equitable and sustainable manner.
More share the wealth nonsense
(11) Affirm gender equality and equity as prerequisites to sustainable development and ensure universal access to education, health care, and economic opportunity.
This is the political heresy that health care is a “right” and the people have a “right” to economic outcomes that the left conjures up regularly.

(12) Uphold the right of all, without discrimination, to a natural and social environment supportive of human dignity, bodily health, and spiritual well-being, with special attention to the rights of indigenous peoples and minorities.
Political correctness!
(13) Strengthen democratic institutions at all levels, and provide transparency and accountability in governance, inclusive participation in decision making, and access to justice.
(14) Integrate into formal education and life-long learning the knowledge, values, and skills needed for a sustainable way of life.
Propaganda and indoctrination – especially our kids!

ICLEI also calls for the adoption of the evil UN Child Treaty and the equally pernicious CEDAW! Here’s the pertinent sections of Agenda 21 dealing with CEDAW and the UN Child Treaty (Remember ICLEI implements Agenda 21 among local governments!):

Governments are urged to ratify all relevant conventions pertaining to women if they have not already done so. Those that have ratified conventions should enforce and establish legal, constitutional and administrative procedures to transform agreed rights into domestic legislation and should adopt measures to implement them in order to strengthen the legal capacity of women for full and equal participation in issues and decisions on sustainable development.  (Agenda 21, section 24.4)

Governments should take active steps to:  *  *  *  (b) Ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child (General Assembly resolution 44/25 of 20 November 1989, annex), at the earliest moment and implement it by addressing the basic needs of youth and children; (Agenda 21, section 25.13[a])

So what role did ICLEI play in the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-Term Cooperative Action Under the Convention?  Not much; just another unconstitutional foreign policy confederation (This is from ICLEI’s website)!

As an international local government association, ICLEI is involved in many advocacy and policy-making activities. Since 1995, ICLEI is an observer organization to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

ICLEI acts as Focal point of Local Governments and Municipal Authorities (LGMA) constituency to coordinate the local government observers at UNFCCC intergovernmental climate negotiations in order to ensure effective communication with the UNFCCC Secretariat.

Wait there’s more – from an UNEP (UN Environment Programme) document:

In response to, and in parallel with, the Bali Road Map, adopted by the Conference of the Parties to the Convention in 2007 at its thirteenth meeting, ICLEI and United Cities and Local Governments established the Local Government Climate Roadmap to follow international climate negotiations and advocate for the recognition of the key role of local governments in the development of a strong, comprehensive and global post-2012 climate agreement.  (emphasis added)

How can US local governments join with foreign ones to develop a strong, comprehensive and global post-2012 climate agreement?  The answer is THEY CANNOT consistent with the Constitution!  (Not even the Convention, bad as it is, explicitly authorizes ICLEI as it is only an agreement between national governments.)

So, if your city, county or town is a member of ICLEI, congratulations!  Your community helped move us closer to world government.  Time to get out!  EVERY American community MUST GET OUT of ICLEI as soon as possible. We must also reject and renounce the UN Convention on Climate Change immediately!

BY the way, there is only ONE presidential candidate that will do something about ICLEI, Agenda 21 and the UN’s creeping world government:  Ron Paul.  (Gingrich has talked about it but remember – he agreed with Speaker Nancy Pelosi that something must be done about climate change.  Gingrich cannot be trusted.)  Stop fighting over the sweet tea tab on the Titanic; vote Ron Paul.

    Yes wouldn't it be terrible if the leaders of the most rapacious country in the world, the country that produces 25% of the world's pollution, the country that is most responsible for global climate change, all for the almighty dollar should be neld responsible by every other nation who are adversely affected by that country's destruction of the earth's ecosystem. We can't have that can we?
