Today would be a great day to remind your delegates in Richmond that you oppose Medicaid Expansion and to thank those who are currently resisting expansion for their strong principled stand! Don’t know who your Delegate is, or their position? Check Here. Remember, there are over 40,000 Medicaid applications already in limbo that the state bureaucracy cannot handle. Governor McAuliffe is telling us that expansion will cost $5 million a day, which for a short period of time will be paid for out of our federal tax dollars. Remember that this number will constantly increase and that eventually half will come from our federal tax dollars and half will come out of our state tax dollars. Remember that health care is already 17% of our state budget and that expansion would take it to 25% of our budget. Keep in mind that West Virginia, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland are currently experiencing the slowest personal income growth in the United States. Expanding our tax liability today makes absolutely no sense.
Please, let your state representatives know that you support their principled stand against Medicare Expansion.
