Did you see this story? It made me nearly cry. High school homecoming dances will never be the same for Parker McDonald after he gets to escort super attractive Olympic skier Lindsay Vonn to the dance. Not to mention the yearbook or ALL future reunions of his class at the Vali Ski and Snowboard Academy in Colorado! (Sounds like a new teen show plot: Parker McDonald asks iCarly or Victorious out to the dance!)
Parker McDonald is a sophomore at the Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy in Colorado. He did not have a date for his school’s homecoming dance Friday, so he decided to ask Vonn, who was visiting the school, to be his date.
“I thought, ‘I need a date and there’s Lindsey Vonn. I’ll ask her!’” McDonald said. “She walked by my lunch table and I whipped out the question.”
Either he figured nothing ventured, nothing gained or Parker has the confidence needed to be a liberty/sovereignty activist!
Nothing like asking a super attractive gal to the dance! Nothing to it! Right? Do you remember how scared you were? I once stood at a door and waited for the pretty girl I knew and wanted to ask out to a dance to come out so I could ask her to a dance and I chickened out. Let her walk right by…
It is like going to a full meeting of your city/council board, seeing all those elected and appointed officials in formal garb and wondered what to say. (One other hint for liberty/sovereignty activists: Toastmasters. I am in our local club in Mechanicsville [Testifying Toastmasters] and it helps speaking and confidence skills!) You know what to do: One person speaks to their city council or county commission and say “Get out of ICLEI! It’s unconstitutional.” Might be called extreme or conspiracy theorist or wingnut or something. But one Unknown Liberty Activist did exactly that: Did his homework, went to a friendly member of his county commission and 912,000 people were freed from ICLEI! (If he or she identifies him/herself to this blog I got a silver Eagle coin for him/her and we’ll honor him/her to the nation through this blog!)
Well Parker is my hero because I remember how hard it was to ask the girl to the dance after getting lots of nos. The liberty movement could sure use Parker’s confidence. Have fun Friday night and don’t forget to google Ron Paul after the dance! (Of course perhaps he should not have asked out a married woman!)
(Thanks to Medal Detector for the story!)
