New Rasmussen Poll Shows Bob McDonnell Lead 51%-42% Over Deeds

A just released Rasmussen Poll taken shortly after the thesis story in the Washington Post shows epublican candidate for Governor Bob McDonnell with a small gain over the last Rasmussen poll. This poll shows McDonnell leading Democrat Creigh Deeds 51%-42%, up slightly (and insignificantly) over the last Rasmussen poll which showed McDonnell leading 49%-41%.

From the Rasmussen Report:

McDonnell currently receives support from 91% of Republicans. That’s up from 85% a month ago. Deeds earns the vote from 84% of Democrats, up from 80%. Voters not affiliated with either major political party still favor McDonnell by a significant margin

This poll shows about the same results as a PPP poll released yesterday, but Rasmussen is historically one of the most accurate in the business, and many question the PPP numbers. These numbers are in line with what the McDonnell has been saying. It’s single digits. But the theory by PPP that the Thesis story is having an impact on the race seems to be disproved by this survey. The respondents were asked questions about the thesis, it’s impact and importance, etc. And the numbers show little movement from the last (pre-thesis) poll.

Please visit Rasmussen for the details on this poll.

Damn, I wish Rasmussen wouldn't force you to pay to look at cross-tabs. I can't make any sense of these numbers without cross-tabs to go by.

I know. Since you have to pay for them, I would assume that if you posted that "protected" data you would get a nasty email from some law firm. I don't even want to look if I can't tell.

Nothing is more conservative than a republican wanting to get their majority back. And nothing is more liberal than a republican WITH a majority.
