New York mayor Bloomberg speculated that the bomber was “somebody with a political agenda who doesn’t like the health care bill or something.”
Newsbusters reports MSNBC host Contessa Brewer appeared on the liberal Stephanie Miller radio show on Tuesday and lamented the fact that the person arrested for the attempted Times Square bombing is a Pakistani American. She complained, “I get frustrated…There was part of me that was hoping this was not going to be anybody with ties to any kind of Islamic country.”
But the fact is, confessed bomber Faisal Shahzad has more in common with left wingers like Bloomberg and Brewer than Tea Party activists. Turns out he is a fellow Bush hater.
And the left wing media is also attempting to shift blame away from radical Islam towards anything else. A house owned by Shahzad is in foreclosure, a fact that the left is attempting to blame for his actions.
So desperate has the left become that they are even spinning and selectively editing quotes from the Wall Street Journal.
In an MSNBC story, the left wing news outlet quotes a WSJ story, omitting important portions:
At the time of his arrest, Shahzad and his wife, Huma Mian, were facing foreclosure on the compact home of gray vinyl shingles they owned on Long Hill Avenue near the center of Shelton, Conn., according to the Wall Street Journal.
However, MSNBC omits the next line from the WSJ story:
He is “financially bankrupt,” said a high-level official briefed on the investigation.
I suppose this line made a foreclosure by an evil bank sound a bit too justified, so MSNBC omitted it.
While MSNBC quoted almost the entire WSJ article, another important portion was edited out:
From the same WSJ article:
Frank DelVecchio, a broker based in Trumbull, Conn., listed the house off and on for Mr. Shahzad starting in 2008. When the listing expired last spring, he said, Mr. Shahzad sent him an email message saying he “had to let the house go to the bank” and was returning to Pakistan to take care of his parents, in particular his ill father.
Both articles reported that Shahzad abandoned the house in May, 2009, yet the bank did not foreclose until September, 2009 – a fact nether article emphasized. However, the fact remains that Shahzad moves out of the house months before foreclosure and had already abandoned the residence when foreclosure began in September.
But to hear the left tell it, the man was ripped from his home by the evil bankers. Yet he never contested the foreclosure.
While a backlash against Muslims is a concern, most Americans understand that there are good and bad people of all religions. What is most disturbing is the fact that the left is concerned about (properly) casting blame for something done by a person that happens to be a Muslim, yet perfectly willing to speculate (without evidence) that a white, (Christian) Tea Party person is to blame without concern for a wrongful backlash. In truth, most liberals even hope for an anti white male backlash. Especially if the Tea Party is the victim.
This must stop. Until this country, and especially the Obama Administration, is willing to stop playing politics with terrorism, none of us are safe. The fact that several of these attempts have failed may be a fortunate result of ineptitude, but surly an act of Providence cannot be discounted.
Either Allah or God, for reasons only They (He) knows.
