Wouldn’t it be great if we managed to eliminate the legalized bribery that currently sells our Congress and it’s law making powers to the highest bidder?
What would it mean for all of us if we leveled the playing field and publicly financed our elections and made it illegal (with appropriate consequences i.e. fines and mandatory prison sentences) for anyone caught bribing a public official and for any public official who takes a bribe.
Then maybe we would end up with a Congress that represented the people who elected them instead of Congressmen who go to D.C. to get rich and sell out to the highest bidders.
I’m surprised that our country has not demanded serious campaign finance reform before now.
What’s it going to take for Americans to demand that the sell out of our country stop once and for all?
