ObamaCare Ruled Unconstitutional by Florida Judge

Florida US District Judge Roger Vinson has found the Insurance Mandate – that is the requirement by the Federal Government that individuals must purchase health care insurance – to be unconstitutional.

Further, Judge Vinson has decided that the entire law, and not just the mandate, is unconstitutional due to the lack of a severability clause. So, not only is the one provision – the mandate – unconstitutional, it takes the entire bill down with it.

This suit was filed by 26 states.

Virginia’s suit was decided in a similar manner, but the judge in Virginia stopped short of declaring the entire law unconstitutional.

But the reality is, the law falls flat without forcing everyone to buy insurance.

This will continue to the Supreme Court, no doubt, but after this ruling, the Virginia ruling and the vote to repeal ObamaCare by the US House of Representatives, this appears to be the beginning of the end for ObamaCare.
