Since the President has decided to graciously allow Congress to have their say, it’s time for Congress to do what it did not do when we attacked Serbia:  Stop the war!

First, if the best they can do is panicked phone calls from Syrian officials to chemical warfare chiefs about the so-called chemical strike, that is not enough to prove the Syrian government did it.  Second, I simply do not take either Secretary Kerry or the President’s word on it.  It’s too classified to disclose except for a few representatives isn’t gonna cut it this time.  There is no reason for Assad to use chemical weapons.  It is also possible that a rogue officer did it without the authority of highers up.  So we’d hurt innocent people if we get it wrong.  Ask the half million kids in Iraq allegedly killed due to US sanctions.

Second, assuming the President is right:  Who said we enforce international norms?  Who gave us the baton and badge.  Many people in some nations do not think we deserve the honor.  Ask a Serb that question.  Or an Iraqi Christian.  Besides, it’s none of our business.

I do think we should get to the bottom of this issue:  Were chemical weapons used, who used them and when?  There should be trials – not by the UN or the ICC but by a future Syria government dedicated to a rule of law solution.  We have millions of lawyers and thousands of judges that would be honored to help that process (me included) to do the trial right.

So I petition my Congressman, Eric Cantor to just say no to war in Syria.  And if the President acts unilaterally after Congress says no – the House ought to impeach him and the Senate remove him from office.

Do you really think the situation in Egypt, Libya, and now Syria is a coincidence? If so, there is no need to read any further.

This is most likely part of the evolving larger plan to stop Iranian nuclear ambitions, among other things. You see, “they” are taking these countries down one at a time rather than all at once. “They” needed a reason for us to get involved, that does not involve to big a political problem for us. It is taking far to long for the Syrian opposition to take down Assad. “They” may have miscalculated.

Who are “they”? The Brits didn’t fall for their manipulation this time, or ours.

The mainstream media knows, so why aren’t they telling us what is really going on? The big picture.

“They” can be smarter than we are, depending on how one measures intelligence. They spend a lot of money in DC. Who may have supplied that intelligence you mentioned? Social media to create opposition to take down countries?

Maybe you should stop listening to hate radio. as it can do that egg in a frying pan thing to your brain. ” This is your brain, this is your brain on hate radio”.

“but by a future Syria government dedicated to a rule of law solution”

Would this not involve some sort of international effort – seeing as though by all accounts Assad will hold on to power? I personally oppose intervention though – both sides have committed atrocities and the possibility for far graver atrocities opens up with a rebel victory

No international effort is necessary or desirable but someday Syria will be a rule of law state – then set up something like a grand jury and investigate all alleged chemical attacks and try the perpetrators.

      Thnaks again for coming!
