As we await the Ames returns, take a few moments (especially if you are in a dark sky area away from city lights and if so, let me know about it sometime!) to observe the Perseids.

The Perseid meteor shower comes around every August 12th or so (night of 8/12 and am of 8/13) bringing a steady if somewhat slow rain of meteors in the sky of about 60 to 100 per hour.  Alas, the full moon’s bright glare will scare off the faint ones.  But still a worthy show.
