Podesta To Mills: “We Are Going To Have To Dump All Those Emails”

podesta photoPhoto by Center for American Progress In today’s, 25th, Wikileaks release of hacked Podesta emails, one of the notable highlights is a March 2, 2015 exchange between John Podesta and Clinton aide Cheryl Mills in which the Clinton Campaign Chair says “On another matter….and not to sound like Lanny, but we are going to have to dump all those emails.”

The email, which may indicate intent, was sent at the same time as the NYT story “Hillary Clinton Used Personal Email Account at State Dept., Possibly Breaking Rules–  which for the first time revealed the existence of Hillary’s email server – hit, and just days before Hillary’s press conference addressing what was at the time, the stunning revelation that she had a personal email account, and server, in her home.

Mills’ response: “Think you just got your new nick name.”

It is unclear which Lanny is referred to: the infamous former DOJ staffer Lanny Breuer who quit in January 2013 after telling Frontline that some banks are too big to fail, or, more likely Lanny Davis, special counsel to President Bill Clinton, and spokesperson for the President and the White House on matters concerning campaign-finance investigations and other legal issues

It is also unclear for now which emails Podesta is referring to in the thread, but Podesta adds: “better to do so sooner than later.” We can hope that a subsequent response, yet to be leaked by Wikileaks, will provide more color.

If the exchange is shown to disclose intent to mislead, it will negate the entire narrative prepared by Clinton that she merely deleted “personal” emails and will reveal a strategic plan to hinder the State Department and FBI “investigation.”

This is the first time that particular exchange has emerged among the Podesta emails.

Setting aside the obvious, the growing levels of disdain for the Clinton campaigns willingness to bend and or break the law when it suits them allow me to write 6 days in advance what the post election analysis will show.

Trump will do better than expected among groups that have previously been counted on in terms of showing solidarity with their collective votes.
The Hispanic/Latino vote isn’t as solidly democrat as one might expect. The folks already here, legally or not are just as tired of having to compete for the entry level service jobs many of them are engaged in. They recognize this influx of excess pools of labor drive down their wages and clog availability of said jobs with such a large pool of unskilled labor. People vote their pocketbooks and self interest first–they are in other words not as stupid as Hillary & company hope.

African American voters monolithic block is beginning to show signs of change. One can not ignore the 50 or more years of solid evidence of the failure of socialist economic policy and it’s effects, intended or not. Much like the Catholic Irish immigrants who the democrat party had a lock hold on for decades ( much has been written about this ) the same slow climb out of that economic/political cellar is being fueled by access to information now widely available to increasing numbers across every spectrum of American society. From education school choice to the destruction of jobs when minimum wages are arbitrarily forced higher, to well documented corruption of black elected officials climbing to the same disgusting levels of corruption in general, voters in what was once ( like the Irish) almost locked in unison are now beginning to break away from this group think mentality. Many within the Urban centers are angry and sick of the impact crime is having in their communities, and know in their hearts no matter what they might say publically the progressive policies and the weakening of the tough law & order policies from just a decade ago has lent to a worsening of their living conditions. Trumps tough calls for Law & Order is resonating with more of these citizens than the media thinks. 25% of African Americans have moved out of the city of Chicago. You don’t hear the media talk much about that. Look for Trump who made an honest and candid appeal to do better, perhaps much better than expected among these groups. Even some of these voters who might not particularly like Trump intuitively understand Trump represents the best chances of a renewal in the inner cities. I saw one black activist with a sign that read ” a opportunity with Trump, or another gov’t check from Hillary” ?

The icing on the cake however will be the depressed turnout among Hillary’s supporters. People with a modicum of decency, a belief that the rule of law must apply to all, people who understand that the system is corrupted , Americans who understand that an insider like Hillary , someone who by now is instantly recognized as an untrustworthy person can not be allowed to sit in that office, if the Presidency is to mean anything.
