Sometimes you have to feel sorry for political candidates that are so far down in the polls as to be irrelevant. But when these politicians resort to questionable tactics, lies and downright distortions of reality and truth, one must begin to feel sorry not for the candidate, but for the voters who must suffer the indignities thrust upon them by these desperate people.
Democrat Alan Grayson is one such embarrassment to the thinking public. The Florida Freshman went so far as to edit a video of his opponent to make it say just the opposite of what was actually said. Even his fellow Democrats said this was wrong. In an ad, Grayson played a clip of his opponent, Dan Webster saying “Wives, submit to your husbands. It’s in the bible”. However, what Webster actually said, telling a Christian group how he keeps a journal for his wife and included bible verses, was “Don’t pick the verse that says ‘Wives, submit to your husbands’ and it is in the bible”.
We have also seen rabid left wingers attack Rand Paul in Tennessee. Running up to a politician like this woman did is a security threat. This was nothing more than a publicity stunt. Knowing that people who act irrationally around politicians are a serious security threat, these left wing apparatchiks intentionally become a security threat, then record videos of how they are “mistreated”.
Well, Democrat Rick Waugh, a candidate for the 7th District Congressional seat held by incumbent Republican Congressman Eric Cantor has adopted these shameful tactics and is spreading lies, claiming Cantor has a bounty on Waugh signs, among other untruths.
But the most insidious tactic of all has been his stalking and heckling Cantor and the more dangerous tactic of placing operatives who present a security risk at events where Cantor will appear. One such Waugh operative was recently arrested for resisting arrest, and Waugh is shamefully blaming Cantor.
Wise up, Waugh. The next majority leader of the House requires protection, as does any senior government official. Threats to these leaders are very real and your childish attempts at garnering attention are both despicable and dangerous.
We can all see you are not a serious candidate, but rather in the race for personal enrichment.
Perhaps you should also let your donors know they are paying your $1,113.00 salary while you are at it. Most believe they are trying to elect a Democrat, not providing you with supplemental income.
You appear to be the only 7th District making money off of your campaign. And as you proudly pointed out, you wife receives Social Security Disability payments, which is how you measure the success of the program – by how much you get out of it. I am sure your wife is entitled to these payments and this is not a knock on her in any way. Rather, it is an indictment of the entitlement mentality which you have so embraced.
So, the fact is, Waugh is living entirely off of the largess of others. That is the problem we have with Washington, Mr. Waugh. The entitlement mentality has run amok and you stand for more of the same.
And that is not the America voters want.
