There is a great article at NRO by John Hood about how there is no clear GOP frontrunner for 2012. I agree. Hood makes this point about what the nominee will need to beat President Obama:
No wimps, blowhards, or transactional leaders need apply. Defeating Obama will be a very difficult and expensive task. It can’t be done without assembling tremendous resources, not just money but millions of people mobilized and inspired by powerful, transformational ideas.
Although the Hood article did not mention RP, this is a perfect illustration of what Cong. Paul did in 2008: Raised tremendous sums of money, had “powerful, transformational ideas” (by definition), Paul can say – look, I was a Tea Party guy before it was cool to be one!, and he mobilized at least thousands if not millions to the cause of liberty. Look around you: The GOP is now the Party of Ron Paul. And lest anyone forget, Cong. Paul can brag about a REAL Reagan endorsement!
