RON PAUL PACKS ‘EM in campuses all around IOWA! 700 at UNI! Maybe 1300 at Iowa State University.

The youth vote and enthusiasm seems to have coalesced about Ron Paul and why shouldn’t they:  The young people know we are handing them debt, debt and more debt.  There is for the first time a real chance of disaster in the US – economic disaster and maybe liberty disaster, too.

Here’s the report about Paul’s reception at Northern Iowa University:

More than 700 community members, mostly students, turned out to hear Paul speak tonight at the University of Northern Iowa Common’s Slife Ballroom. Every chair in the room was claimed 30 minutes before the candidate was scheduled to appear. Students stood along the walls and crowded into the back of the room.

There were fifty or so outside!  Check this out:

In a way, the atmosphere was reminiscint of the crowds of young voters who greeted Barack Obama when he campaigned four years ago. Some Paul supporters in the crowd, in fact, said they voted for Obama in 2008 – but wouldn’t do so again. Instead, this time, they are all about Ron Paul.

“I was always a Democrat. I voted for Kerry, Obama, because of anti-war stuff,” said Justin Jensen, who is a co-chairman of Paul’s campaign in Black Hawk County. “But I saw Obama lying through his teeth, so I had to change my candidate.”

That’s a big change from Obama to Paul!  But there was an even bigger reception at Iowa State University in Ames:

On a blustery night in Ames, over 1,000 people showed up to hear presidential candidate Ron Paul’s campaign speech at Iowa State University tonight. The event at the Memorial Union Great Hall and flowed into the Oak Room. With lines waiting, ISU staff opened an overflow room, campaign aides said.  (emphasis added)

There’s more from ABC News:

Speaking to a standing-room-only gathering of more than 1,000 college-age students in Ames, Iowa, Thursday night, Paul declared again that the war on drugs had been a failure, reminding the audience that more people had died in preventing people  from using drugs than from the drugs themselves.
