SHOCKING NEWS: Rove Says We Must Support Gillespie!

Wall Street Journal / Fox News

That doesn’t mean these Republicans will be home free. If Democrats sense an opportunity, they will jump in with last-minute attack ads. But with Montana, South Dakota and West Virginia probably not in the cards—half the seats Republicans need to win a majority—Democrats hope to save endangered incumbents elsewhere.

In an unanticipated and utterly shocking move, Karl Rove embraces the subtle message that Virginian’s must vote for Ed Gillespie, since “Montana, South Dakota and West Virginia probably” aren’t “in the cards”.

In the video posted in the link above, Ed Gillespie argues that Mark Warner is a slave to Harry Reid. I suppose we ought to vote for a slave to Mitch McConnell. What’s his position from Wahoo Country?

“I think it’s a matter of voters knowing his record which has not been good for Virginia or the country”. As if his has? All of a sudden, Mr. Gillespie is opposed to debt and the individual mandate? All of a sudden Gillespie is a Reaganite?

So Virginia, it is up to you. Vote for a Karl Rove Corporatist, or give the Democrats the Senate. Set all your principles and beliefs, your knowledge and your passion aside, and do as you’re told. Karl Rove commands it.

My vote is not about making me feel good–it’s about having an impact for liberty. I wasn’t a big fan of Romney, but I would have voted for him if i’d been eligible, because he was, IMO, the best strategic choice for liberty at the time of the general election.
In the fall, I plan to vote for Gillespie, and then after the election, to hold him accountable as best I can. I’m not giving up on liberty–I’m using Gillespie as a means to achieve it. I’d be thrilled if we had a Senator who stood solid on the principles of freedom, could articulate and defend them, could run an effective and substantial campaign, and sway others to his or her side. But since I don’t have that option this fall, I’ll take the better option-Gillespie. I’m not saying we should never vote 3rd Party, but neither am I saying we should always support the candidate with the best consistency of principle, regardless of capability to win.

It will be a cold day in hell when I vote for anybody Karl Rove endorses.

Just look what “they” did to Brat in a few days? Fired his campaign manager who got him there. Hired a “Cantorite”, big business already has their hands up Brat’s butt moving his mouth for him. Brat let them do it.

Just suppose his campaign manager had fired Brat when it looked like he would never win? This is the Republican Union. Brat now deserves to loose, now that we know just a little of what he is.

The far right will support Brat so they don’t get blamed if the Dems find something in a closet, and Brat looses. If they found/find something, they will hold it until October. The 7th is vulnerable.

Where I come from you don’t fire the people who get you there. Republican Party loyalty anyone? What a joke.

Gene, I agree with you about what the mainstream Repug establishment has done to insure that Dave Brat either converts to their church (of the public teat) or loses in the fall. I’ve despised them ever since 1964 when we were not allowed to use local Republican headquarters to campaign for Goldwater. Vote for Gillespie? Reluctantly, I’ll hold my nose and do it, not because I believe as he believes (in wallowing at the public trough) but because I think he’s part of a machine that will benefit by slowing down everything the Kenyan fascist wants to do. However, supporting him with my money, effort or personal credibility? Like he and Rove supported E.W. and Cucc last year…. in short, no way in hell. When I was in the Marine Corps in ‘Nam we had a saying… PBIMF… For ED and his cronies this year will only be a first, very minor, installment. “Cantorize” will become both a verb and a rallying cry. Semper Fi!
